  2. Well its been 9 months since i started training and i look forward to every ringing session like it was my 1st. i ringed approx 700 birds in my 1st year (june - dec) of 35 species, and have added (without checking my log) approx 200 from jan to now...its a feckin drug the more i do the more i want..i urge anyone who has a interest in birds to give it a go..you never know you just might like it .
  3. Well ive cleaned out the poly tunnel and started sowing seeds..god if feels good , the peas (edible and sweet) are popping through so is the lettuce, ill get a few pics up as i go. Question for you guys..has anyone used Aspirin as a rooting agent before ?, one of the old boys up the plot mentioned it to me the other day as i was delousing his chucks for him.
  4. I have the same problem Ray, i like to inform the wife on what im doing "outside" but all i get is negativity so now ive decided not to inform her...simples
  5. Yes I'll be picking it up, it would cost £15 to send it to my RFD who would then charge £25 to complete the transaction.
  6. Likewise Mike, hope you enjoy her. I spoke to Tony at Sfs and I'm ordering a Imp which is a 99s with a bit of loving put into it .lol. I think that will suite me better.
  7. Leverets will be left if you relocate now..saying that they breed most months. if i was doing it id leave it to october and use some well placed Gate nets (or simular) and a spaniel or lab . Edited to add... Bugger...you beat me to it dave..
  8. That is a early bird , last year was the 6th of April when i saw my 1st. Chiffchaffs are starting to arrive and today i ringed a Tawny owl who we know has a clutch of 4 eggs, my nest box has Robins building a nest so yes spring is here for me.
  9. My heart....ive always longed for a .22 HW77k, so i recently bought one. The gun is everything ive been told about them..accurate, beautiful and well made ..BUT..i should have tried one before i bought one. i didnt realise that the gun coupled with a scope and lamp would be too heavy for pencil neck like myself !. Lesson learned, Never mind. Im sure Weihrauch will have something a little lighter.
  10. Send for some Engels .
  11. Nice clear image.. Hope you nail the trap thief , put up a pic of you do.
  12. Yes, I shoot a Hushpower (pedretti) .410 and smithie usually lamps. Good combo if you can get within 20yrds of a rabbit.

  15. Bloody brilliant idea.... I'll be using that next time out.
  16. Imo if your using the net as a traditional I would cut it in half and use two fiftys rather than a hundred. Saves a lot of arm ache .
  17. You did very well considering the conditions.
  18. Lovely fish.. i dont know the 1st thing about bass fishing, i do however love my lure fishing... would the bass take a lure ?.
