When I'm on my travels I often see some lovely specimens of road kill .. You know.. Owls, mink, stoats ect. What I want to know is would they be of any use to anyone for taxidermy ? If so do I need permission to pick them up ? Who do I contact if I do ? How do I store the creature and how do I pack it for post ?.... Last night I saw a barn owl clipped by the motor in front of me , it was in good knick not smashed.I also saw a tawny and little owl (def not a good night for owls).

I think they are a little bulky but as it would be the only thing id be carrying then id find it ok. i have a new permo which ive been told (by the shoot captain) that its only ferreting and netting (at night) till the season ends then i can do as i like, so the hand held nv would enable me to suss out the land without upsetting any one .

I can't see the problem if you gave him the permission ,as for the gun ... It's his to sell !.

I think for surveying a potential drop it would be a excellent idea but I would only use it for that. I would do the drop on a later date knowing a little more about it. I have looked through a few but I must admit it does strain my eye badly, I think I would opt for one with a screen like the ones "some bloke" makes.

Rhys, i understand you want nets from mr brinded, i too have had nets from him... but take the advice from smithie and contact nels0n. you will have a better quality net at probably a better price and you will get it a damn sight sooner .
