Well done on the new permission mate, I too talk to dozens of people a day but I have to be in the mood (so to speak) to go and ask a total stranger to hunt his land. I find most are polite enough if they say no but I have to be in the mood for the nasty ignorant arse holes (few and far between) who give you attitude as soon as you open your mouth.
Glad everything worked out well for you guys, cant wait for the footage ..as for the guys who came in and showed you the pic..well they gotta be Yorkshire men..you know the saying " Tha can allus tell a yorkshireman but tha cant tell him owt !". .
when i used to venture out checking the local pheasant population at night a favourite spot was where 2 individuals took their own lives (both by shotgun) and some nights i would walk right past the spot..other nights i would stop and go the other way..because i new someone was watching me .
There's a lot of shysters out ther trying to have your pants down.. My advice is find a reputable supplier who actually uses the nets he sells and cherish him...
I bought a copy of that DVD years ago and still like to watch it today, it is one of the best informative DVD there is. Not to sure of his net making/repair dvd tho.... I personally would like to see a up to date version, ever thought of doing one Allan.
When I picked mine up from sfs tony told me he had tried quite a few different "brands" of pellet and he found the barrel preferred accupells , and tell you the truth I haven't tried any other. He also said the gun will start at 11ftlb and will go up to 11.9ftlb and in time will settle at around 11.7ftlb...
If it was a pup then banging its food dish on the floor before you feed it would get him used to loud noise , if its older go to your nearest clay pigeon club and slowly move closer (over time) and gauge the reaction of the dog.
Looks like your going to have to travel Allan, there are still decent pockets of rabbit about , you just have to look for them, I travel a minimum of 40 mins and when I meet up with Smithers it's a 1hr 3/4 each way....
Yes mate, the 16 week wait was a crippler but its here now and im loving it. It is a .22 they dont do a .177. Its perfect for a old timer like me being light to carry. im glad i took your advice and got one .
I can thoroughly recommend the SFS Imp, they really are a lovely gun. You could always get a hw99s but as Charlie says the hw guns are better With a little tune up.
