  5. We never used stihl all ways seemed to expensive not sure if they justified the price tag. All ways used big husqvarna's with a nice little 13 inch bar and rakers down and weeee away to go. Also a red brand of saw that I can't for the life of me remember the name of which is odd cause I spent 12 years hanging onto the sodding thing
  6. I halved it though as I was only doing 6 or 7
  7. I used the recipe from steelewilly on the previous page here it is I have tanned a lot of rabbit skins with alum and salt. Your making more work than necessary. 1 kg alum, 1 kg salt, 15L water. Skin rabbits and put straight in freezer till you have around 15-20. Don't salt or flesh them. Mix your solution, put them in for 2-3 days, stir twice a day or more if possible. Pull them out and rinse them. Beginning from the backside peel membrane from skin. Should be quite easy. Keep old solution and add half as much salt and alum. Put skins back in for 10-14 days, stirring whenever you can. Pul
  8. We also used to use the cheap engine oil from quicksave at the time obviously wasn't as good as proper stuff but we got through chains at a fair rate any way so it didn't matter much

  11. when you soak in the allum solution is there a point where you can go too far and the fur falls out ? I have a bout 7 soaking but still need to remove the membrane for a few but time is marching on
  12. That turned out great had me interested from beginning to end
  13. I use it loads you still get the odd thing get in but I wouldn't stand a chance with out it. Need to keep it off the leaves and works well with the blue plastic water pipe. Pain to weed because once sealed around the edges bit of a bind you keep seeing the weeds and putting it off lol. But every now and then I bite the bullet yank it off good weed and back on so worth keeping in mind making it easy to remove or get in.
