  1. don't plant too early and plant in nice blocks. Pollination seems to be the main issue for me I think its very dependant on the summer you have
  2. that's because your in the road they can't get by But yes nothing wrong with being around the sheep with the farmers blessing as long as they are under strict control which means if they are a bit suspect on a lead if the sheep are in lamb or have lambs
  3. to look at them pictures you would think that would be a piece of cake but with the ground like concrete just goes to show. Sorry to hear about the ferret. Look forward to the video
  4. these would be worth a try nothing to lose https://www.ccc3.co.uk/insurance very helpful and down to earth
  5. no bodies going to insure some thing after the event surely
  6. I can see this law being abused by petty minded folks making a fuss over nothing. I was walking the dog tonight on road on lead and some german shepard cross came belting out and piled into him. The owner apologised and no big deal Then the other day a farmers collie nailed me in the knee. All minor events and part and parcel
  7. I like that my type of bush lol
  8. very good post at the bottom which might give you an idea to adapt what you have rather than get a purpose built job just for a one off
  9. have a read through here should help you http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/343400-drop-net/?hl=%2Bdrop+%2Bnet

    Dummy Run

The dog marked this bush yesterday and a rabbit nipped out the bottom so we went back today to do a demo and get the dog a bit of training even though he didn't mark it today. First job was to straighten the net out after a hasty pickup previously. Perfect little spot for a bit of day time maneuvering
  14. Never new bolting bunnies were easy any way unless your one of these lucky devils with holes in the middle of open fields
  15. When I started on my first long net I found my self about 10 yards in then realised my knots where slipping all over the shop. That was dispiriting but it taught me to pay closer attention in the future as I go
  16. I guess you could just cut it back and resume
  17. Haha, I think it was a publicity stunt.no man could lift s fully loaded vsn. lol new that
  18. daft thing to do all that money at stake and put ya back out lifting a van
  19. did you try what tc suggested to find out if its the twine or your needle loading ?
  20. making your own all adds to the experience when you catch in them. Or if one nips straight through your net you can give your self a must try harder pat on the back
  21. If any dog should be excused it has to be a police dog doing what its trained do only it obviously made a mistake a went off on a tangent on this one unfortunately
  22. some of these dogs are going to be tidy dogs too just got unlucky and lumbered with a daft owner. Hopefully a few find a permanent home
  23. just can't work mine at the moment went and had a look today and its sodden again after the rain. Forecast is not looking great but we will see what its like tomorrow
  24. exactly that's what I have rough around the edges but a nose and hunting skills you can't fault so for me thats the bit that counts
