So, Tell Us, What Are Ye All At In The Veg Garden?

her plot is higher up the bank than mine and further up the hill. She went bit loopy and dug it over very quickly then just seemed to cast seed every where. Looked like she was just filling it up. But her plot was like 70% flowers and obviously worked well for protecting the veg some how. I doubt my dozen plants will make much diffence but i think I will try and plan to have more -

Nasturtiums make good salad leaves, slight peppery taste, and the edible flowers are quite nice in a salad also. Don't know if it is a good thing or bad? Black fly absolutely love Nasturtiums, so will they draw the black fly away from the beans or attract them to the area? I honestly don't know. TC the lady a few plots up had her plot covered in these flowers and her greens were unnetted and in pristine condition. Any one else left theres open they would be decimated by caterpillars. So I thought I would sow a few just out of interest. Not sure if I have got the name right but I th -

Saw a tip on facebook last night about drilling holes around a bucket about an inch up. Bury upto the rim and fill with dung then plant your courgettes around it and just water the bucket. Sounded like a good idea and I had to plant some out today as they were getting to big for me cold frame. got me bean frame up. Made a hash of it last year and crossed the canes high up so the bean hung down in the middle so gone low this year even got few flowers in nasturtiums I think next to cabbage peas are up got one up on the mice it was either the paraffine or bu -

The dog has been marking lots of cover and holes of late and getting no reward for his efforts other than getting called away since the season ended. So I felt he needed a little bit of success to keep his marking going. I new of a little bit of wood where there was a good chance of seeing a nice size rabbit sitting out and with luck he could preasure it to ground. So up at 6 this morning after not being able to sleep as I was actually excited to be getting out. I am marching towards 50 I really should grow up Typically as we got into the field not a rabbit to be seen lol so we hopped

What do folks do as far as watering goes ? If you have a plot full of stuff or even two it gets bit impractical. I tend to just water what's most vulnerable though I do think the first year when I watered the whole dam plot every 2 or 3 days I had the best crops of every thing. Used to take 2 or 3 hours but every thing was lush and green -

Well despite the weather not being right for planting out I had to get some brassica in out the way. Planted a few grey hound cabbage. Dug a hole and filled with mole hill soil collected from a sheep field up the road. See how that fares with the club root. Also planted a few Cauliflower 'Clapton' and Cabbage Kilaton both club root resisant apparently. Just a little test really the seed is a little bit pricey but just curious as too how they fare. turned a bit more ground. This patch was manured last year and covered in weed fabric. Looks nice so be good to see how things grow. -

really enjoyed the peaky looking forward it. Also stumbled across Line of Duty the other day. At first I found the dry acting annoying but it soon caught me and watched the 3 seasons on the trot. By the end I thought it was bloody amazing
