  1. paid £130 for mine and I got a lot of dog per £ lol
  2. need to get recycling some of them dogs on facebook. Bloody loads of bet most could be tidy dogs given a chance and going by some of the descriptions some of them are amazing lol.
  3. Thank you Lara for the info Very frustrating that jok and sod all you can do really. If its kids and you show any signs of it getting to you there will never be any peace. We had trouble one year but worse they did was tip me water drums over. So now I leave that bit neck deep in stingers and brambles that keep the sods at bay. I found that too Allan my mate on the plot advised me to plant out just before rain rather than during a sunny spell and they take off much better
  4. what a load of cobblers like a pantomime what happened to the noble art
  5. you would imagine after a couple of trips of expecting game to head your way most dogs would soon let you know
  6. In a similar situation I was ferreting the other day the the dog was watch the holes. When he suddenly turned around and was looking down into a wooded valley after what seemed like an age a hare came cruising along. The dogs ears were up and he was looking when the hare must have been a hell of a distance away. Not sure if it was his nose or ears that picked it up.
  7. On a more important note if your going to drink tea get some decent tea leaves and an infuser unless the whole family drink it then just use good old pot
  8. wish I had earthed the spuds up last night now but not to worry worse things happen at sea
  9. you only just figured that out
  10. First ton bag full of weeds, soil, veg peelings and layered with horse dung. Quite a lot of perennial weeds in but the dam things got to go some where will lob some soil on the top let it settle and whack in a few squash or maybe a pumpkin. Will rig up a 5 gallon drum with a rag coming out and into the soil for some sort of wicking self watering. Be interesting to see how the soil composts down by this time next year Or it might just turn into a big green mass
  11. Never forget when I met me old man for the first time could hear him coming up the steps clank clank I recognised the old sound of whisky bottles rattling in a carrier bag straight away. Thought bloody great this is going to go well lol
  12. I love that terrain really nice to see other parts of the world
  13. Yes when folks start a new they tend to want to blast it with the Rotavator which looks nice for a short while then they in trouble. My first plot I took the turf off and stacked (which rotted a treat) just a yard or two at a time then dug over weeding it and planted so at least I had stuff growing as I went which encourages you. bit daunting when I first started and I took it at the end of may one year My second plot keeps fighting back but I blame it on an over grown one either side lol but I will get the bugger no rush
  14. yes weed killer not allowed on ours as some one dipped there weed killer watering can in the communally water tub and the results weren't great
  15. Nice one jok well tidy Nice bald paths thats my sort of path no where for the slugs to hide. I all ways surrounded by neglected plots right pain in the arse.
  16. Not drunk for a good few years now. I wont even have a chocolate liqueur lol If I hadn't met the wife I would be in a right pickle literally Never think about it now more than happy with a cuppa. Nothing wrong with drinking obviously it just don't agree with me so best avoided.
  17. brilliant and looks like they are keeping him. Be right downer if they threw poor sod in the truck and took him back. Amazing how he made it considering traffic and god knows what else. Love a happy ending
  18. nhs is one area needs a good shake up and money thrown at it and looking after. Absurd a service that looks after our health is in such a mess. So yes

  21. hard at it on plot two this morning. Turn by hand and pick the weeds out. Give it a day or to then rotavate. Slow going but got to be done more peas in Telephone Pea variety old digger working well now and nice to use. Leaving a trench around the sides now keep the dam paths back. Waste of a foot or two either side but worth it hard life

    Dummy Run

yes very true. I used to work the same bushes with a JR as a kid though I can't imagine him sitting there while I run nets out but saying that I never tried to train him. That venue I just potter about because its unlikely to get one to ground so I don't have to worry about him marking so handy for a summer time rattle about His not at the working with nets stage yet only matter of time before he gets balled up in netting but it will come
  23. Tidy up your garden David and pop a few fenns down worked for me. I left a bit of junk around one winter and few bags of compost stuff next thing the sods were moving in. Tidy and a trap or two down permanent and they no longer visit
