Wouldn't be with out them as I am on my own most the time. I can ferret a blind spot knowing I can hear the ferret come out the other side. Also the dog can hear the ferreting coming as well so gives him a bit of warning of whats coming out.

that is not the attitude. We had a kitten in the yard few months ago so I popped it in the crate and handed it to the cats trust. Though I did use it as a training opportunity for what good it did me lol. But you have to try

we have a pet cocker coming up to 10 now his a cracking little fella. Bright as a button and keen as mustard. Got his as a house dog but if I had molded him and trained him he would have been a cracker for the field. As it is his just crackers and with out training this is the view you will see a lot of but they are a great little breed

thats a homely looking plot forest. Looks dry to or it wet underneath -
lol yea can be in fact I bought a rod licence today. Oh how times have changed

Cheers folks he has got intense eyes on him. A lot of people can't read him and won't approach him you can see they are wary of him though his as good as gold in that respect. There was a hare running down the road in this one his condition is just his breeding I can't take any credit there unfortunately. It just makes it easy to keep him looking well

Lovely dog its funny how the camera catches them sometimes. Makes them look slight in one and stocky in another
-
that explains it

crackers pictures Gaz you landed on your feet with that terrier. How its coming on with the ferrets ?

Took the dog for his afternoon stroll around the woods no one about and we had the place to our selves. I like the heat as it takes the edge off him just a little anyway lol Took about 2 minutes before he picked up some scent. His so switched on and with that nose of his every walk turns into a hunt of some sort He couldn't quite put his finger on it the out crop was sticking out a bit more than he expected after all that the possible rabbit was in the thick stuff so off down the river bank for a cool

Things queuing up at home so planted out some cabbage and sprout both club root resistant varieties the ground was still sodden after a monster shower we had friday afternoon strawberries flowering. Once they have fruited I might dig the lot up and get that grass out of there spuds up and away shame the frosts nipped them and knocked them back onions and some spinach that half the row seems to have gone. Slugs or birds broadbeans been weviled the netting can come off next time rows of parsnip interlaced with rad -
I like this a bit different

not been up the plot for a few nights due to the rain so popped up tonight and put support up for my peas. I had 3 lots of peas in 2 were soaked in paraffin and scaffold netting buried all around them and they popped up fine and the third just soaked in paraffin and not a pea to be seen. So basically netting well buried around them is the key to keep the mice out. Also noticed much better germination on seed after giving the ground a good pummeling with the big rotavator compared to the last 2 years when I haven't had it. -

from what I understand of the no dig you require a lot of compost to put on top thats where it falls over for me anyway when I read about it. You can of course make your own but again you need a lot I would have thought.
