Nifht mare as soon as a pull filter off he nearly back flips as he thinks he getting slipped I all ways struggle my self with his stuff but first thing that comes to mind is don't slip him while his back flipping lol. Teach him a wait or some thing easy said than done I know
-
My dog is the same on a slip but if I let him go he walks along about a yard in front lol and if I want I can lamp him off the slip. You think when they pull like that if you let them go there going to rocket off but its not the case. Though to be honest I mostly use the slip as I like to position him precisely and let the rabbit come to us and slip when I am ready and over time he will learn not to pull any way

these food posts have that affect

forgot to say.. to take dinner off dog when he's eating so as to trigger reaction and repeat until he knows who the boss is My dog was of a similar disposition and possessive over food and items. I admit initially I met him head on and put him straight but in hind site it wasn't the best approach. What did work was avoiding a confrontation and as casso says get the dog comfy around you. I often hold a rabbit, chicken leg or what ever while he munches on it and that has helped a lot. His first day time rabbit he caught and trotted off with it. I had to wait for the ferret and by the tim

They are a constant work in progress for sure. I was walking mine tonight and he was a treat on the lead then sticking to me off the lead very well and getting better all the time. Then getting on when told and stopping dead when asked. Recalling spot on. Then we cut across the fields and he worked a hedge row to perfection checking every inch with his nose and taking his time. All minor stuff to most but means a lot to me I should give the young lad more credit some times. Today was a good day

will be interesting pies jok. I struggle with pigeon and undecided how best to cook it. I have tried flash frying so its quite rare and tender then gone the other way and made a pie but cooked the whole bird for a couple of hours so its very tender

Jok's Take On A Treble Bow Back Box...

I wasn't looking for a bite mate that's not my style ... I genuinely think that's a nice box ... But IMO the middle section is to small ........... Middle section is for storage mate. Locator box. Spare batteries. Couple of nets etc. and a pie no doubt -
wife found a staffy in town last year its was following the daughter. As she got there a police car nearly ran it over which they thought was funny and said just take it home with you or leave there. Luckily the local vets had some one there and they took it in. Turned out to be chipped and was reunited with its owner the next morning which was lucky as they had travelled few hundred miles to visit and the dog had nipped out the yard when they weren't looking

I would imagine his feeling a bit stressed out and at the end of the day no one would really wish him any harm so probably best to just move on. Got to be more gone on here than meets the eye
-
just to add our first season was great hunting wise he did top job ferreting with a super nose and picked up rabbits on the lamp a treat as the season went on
-
the above for me too though the bond is ok and I would add keeping on top of stocking breaking. I have times I think every thing is great then we slide back. I feel mine is so keen I am constantly trying reign him in so the winter has been good plenty of work and keeping him tired lol. Now its a summer of not looking for rabbits and just boring excise and fishing for him
-
Closed season is up to your discretion but most stop when they start breeding unless its pest control. I was just taking the batteries out of my locators as we speak lol. Roll on september

yea the fella that show me as a kid to lay a hedge used to just cut the forked pegs as he went and nice job he did too

Bit more digging this morning before the rain comes few onions I popped in last year. Yet to grow a decent onion and not expecting that to change any time soon I like garlic all ways does well timing wrong on the broad beans but nothing lost really yacon tubers cost me 3.50 off ebay last year for about an inch of root. Done well but not over much flavour too it but then it is compared to a water chestnut rounding up the strawberries peed off dog that would much rather be ferreting but got to enjoy a bit of sun -
poor do I kept hoping till the last he was genuine but no escaping it now. What he should do to at least attempt to put things right by getting back on here and promise to pay every one back even if it takes a year. That would be the right thing not just run for the hills or hobble. Start with the folks that paid a fiver as that will be easier

nice couple of runs must be nice having them sitting out like that

terriers have hard enough job as it is with out asking for trouble that looks nasty

Made a start and did a bit of digging today. Bit too wet still but wanted to get nibbling away at it other wise I will suddenly have two plots to sort all of a sudden. Rounded up escaping strawberry runners and put in a nice row. Will try some carrot in pots this year in the yard as I all ways struggle to get them going on the plots either through poor germination and drying out or the slugs nip them all off -
mates are like family the less the better every one wants some thing. I never ask any one for any thing unless I expect to pay for it. I will walk 5 mile rather than ask for a lift even they are going that way any way. Mind you think that make me an unsociable miserable git
