  1. Let him trail a light line around for a few weeks with out holding it and make sure its in reach when you want to call him in so you can give it a tug to get him moving. Could all ways reward as well I guess if you want. Then pop the normal lead on but leave the line attached then take lead off after a bit and repeat. I found with mine if you give him the chance to ignore you once or he gets away with some thing once he won't forget it and it sets you right back ah also call him or a whistle when you turn to just change direction and again give the line a tug so he turns I shouldn't commen
  2. Used to drop our cocker in kennels but he hated it and used to go nuts try drag you up the road once he twigged where he heading. They used to do the grooming as well. But last time they seemed to have sheared the tips on his nipples and after a week there when we collected him he was piddling blood. So I just stay at home now while the wife and kids go off and the daughter trims him. Poor bugger can't stress him out like that.

    God

Seems to be a bit of a fact at some point the sun will get us in about 5 billion years if some thing else does not do it first. Its an odd thought knowing at some point it will all end
  4. I think your right . I find my dogs response to whistle works better than verbal so for a stop i stuck him on light long line and toot the whistle once and put a hand in the air so as to get a hand signal going at the same time then put me foot on the line to start and went from there. I used to just shout wait and he would stop most the time but popped a line to make sure he stopped every time and prefer to whistle. His very good now on or off and I can use a dog whistle or my own whistle. Recall is good now two toots and his back unless fresh scent involved then its can go either way So
  5. I could watch clips like that all night proper job
  6. not soppy at all and good on you for doing the work. With my dog if that some thing interesting is fresh scent or turning for some fish the scent will win though. But that's him his quite enthusiastic. I would have more chance of putting him in a stop

  16. Its a good feeling to look after your self and keep healthy. I let my self go for 10 years or so but now I am as fit as I was in my 30's if not fitter. As you get older i think its easier to be more disciplined. I will cycle or run in any weather no excuses and plan to keep on moving till i drop or get run over Really lost the plot and started doing weights now as well haha. So good luck in your endeavours and keep at it
