Up at first light for a couple of hours ferreting. Nice little wood with a good few rabbits about but lots of tracks and banks. With in a couple of minutes the dog was quartering the bank. He went around the top of the cover and 2 or 3 rabbits came out and nipped down the bank. Next thing I hear him going full pelt down through the tree's. I new he was going full bore as he must been behind some thing and it wasn't going to end well. Sure enough I heard a hell of thud and a yelp followed by silence. I started running towards where i had heard him talking to him as well to keep him calm. I

I know what you mean I have given a few away but not sure if people actually like them or not as you say. To be honest I am not a massive fan but I keep trying different recipes. I think the best I have had so far was a deboned one then rolled with stuffing filling and lined with bacon. Tiercel put it up once and that was dam nice. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/263226-stuffed-rolled-rabbit/ Other than that I am still looking for the perfect recipe. But I like to eat what I catch and obviously the dogs and ferrets help out

Thats where people like you and me's thinking is half wrong/half right The majority of the UK do see them for what they are . Problem is they dont spend ANY time with "Normal" people in the UK . The people the socialise and see and interact with for 98% of their life will be people exactly like them . When they go out on the piss they socialise with their own kind(celebrities etc) . They dont stand at the bar and strike up a conversation with "Terry the office worker " or "dave the builder" . That in itself isnt a problem . It is what it is . But the people they talk to and spend most of

Aye roll on the weekend for another go. Your right about the weather. Ground is really hard and bone dry at the moment. But you can bet when the rain does come that will be it lol

That's the next planThinking of remove the ramp and use the pipe from lower level to top. Going to get one of those hammocks too heard they like those. I don't think I'll have too much bother with driving rain as it's pretty sheltered. Does anyone have any idea on how to stop her throwing her food all over the spot? Bought the heaviest bowl I could find and she still nudges it up with her nose and sends the bowl and buiscuits flying. Thought of getting a recycled plastic container and nailing through it to secure it down. Anyone else have this problem? find some thing like these

Both my dogs are pets that have zero hunting experience . I did think maybe my little one might be a option as shes far more obedient than the other big lump i got . Shes 2 1/2 now and as i said had zero experience . Thought it might be a little late to train her . If i get into ferreting i would be learning myself as im doing it and would also have to teach her which might become a bit of a clusterfuck in the field . Its a thought tho . Im sure she'd learn pretty quick and would love to have a reason to take a dog out with me . Id have to use her just for marking tho i think . Again trying to

Pot luck with out a dog the most obvious hole loads of sign can be empty where as a leaf filled one you might walk by will hold. Just need to find some where with a decent amount to up the odds. Or if your lucky and have a nice hedge row full of holes and you see rabbit there just start at the end and work along. Bloody hard work around here with out a dog and its nice to have one

With the physical work there are two types of folks. Some will use any excuse to stop for a fag or a chat and others just want to get there head down and crack on with the job they are given. Get your foot in the door with a trial or some thing and prove which one you are.
