  1. Mine is having his out in ten days too They knocked him out and I had him back home in couple of hours.Mine cost 130 including some laser heat treatment. But I don't mind
  2. cuts heeling well but leg still puffy but going down slowly. Just walked him round a field of sheep tonight just to keep that side of things fresh in his mind. Couldn't help but have a peep round some cover with a view to ferreting in the future. He went on point and started to stare then gave me the look that says right get the nets down. I love that look
  3. The jr in my picture had a great temp she was a lovely family pet. Not an ounce of malice in her regarding people and other dogs or live stock. But would stay to a fox all day. Loved catching rats, squirrel and you take ferreting was a brilliant marker. But like dilly says its a bit of a lucky dip. Had a lakeland and he was bloody useless. Wanted to fight and kill every thing but was scared of the dark typically.
  4. the humble lurcher can't be far behind. Look on fb the poor sods change hands at the drop of hat
  5. A little jack with some working history behind it I reckon. Real characters but then most terriers are so you got plenty of choice really

  10. look at that baby http://tinyurl.com/zb7lq62
  11. plenty on ebay but they seem to hold there value well
  12. I found they did fit well and survived a nights lamping but did not take long for the velcro fasteners to get muddy and lose there grip. They are now decorating a field some where
  13. Thank you be plenty more no doubt Well his happy in him self wants to play about and his putting weight on it. But apart from going out side for a piddle on a lead thats his lot Surprised it swollen so low down though but early days. He goes back in tomorrow night for a check
  14. At the end of the day you don't have a choice and getting out the car is not too big of an ask. I got stopped last year just walking with the dog and a ferret. I was a bit peeved. But she was just doing her job to keep some nosy sod happy. Being tidy got me on my way quicker and she wished me luck catching a few. No problem with that. Just the person who made the effort to ring them I felt miffed at
  15. looks so appetising and a lucky animal. Much better than the lorry and slaughter house trip out

interesting little dogs. Are they inclined to go to ground ?
  17. and if you saw off the tip of an over hanging branch with a ladder leaning against it. Be aware when the weight drops of the branch will will spring up and you look really stupid with your ladder leaning on nothing until you hit the dirt. So they tell me
  18. True gaz catching just don't matter its the sport. Christ the black fella looks a power house in the first picture
  19. Ta folks I was surprised to see him putting weight on it this morning. Obviously sore as hell and swollen but looks promising Its does worry me some time vin but the vet in question has 4 years experience in a farming type practice and farmers wouldn't put up with nonsense. Choices are limited as far as vets go. Used have a really good vet years ago. Dragged him out of bed 4 am one night after a lamping session and he never even charged me. The dog never made it to the morning so maybe he was being sympathetic but not many would skip a bill now a days
  20. Thank you Just got him home she stitched up the slash in the muscle ok. But his also torn the muscle on the side of his leg some how and thats a bit of an unknown so will have to see. Getting a deja vu feeling here. So I know the drill rest and build up slowly and fingers crossed but there you go he wouldn't have it any other way. Carrying the big sod across the field and he started wiggling when he winded a rabbit
  21. sorry to hear that I know where your coming from. What can you do with the buggers
  22. cheers notz as you say no escaping it really
  23. Up at first light for a couple of hours ferreting. Nice little wood with a good few rabbits about but lots of tracks and banks. With in a couple of minutes the dog was quartering the bank. He went around the top of the cover and 2 or 3 rabbits came out and nipped down the bank. Next thing I hear him going full pelt down through the tree's. I new he was going full bore as he must been behind some thing and it wasn't going to end well. Sure enough I heard a hell of thud and a yelp followed by silence. I started running towards where i had heard him talking to him as well to keep him calm. I
