Thank you folks Nice chill in the air this morning hopefully start to knock the cover back a bit now

On foot today so set off to a little wood a couple of miles away. One of the few open spots I have because cover is still bad around here at the moment. Soon as we got over the gate I spotted a rabbit the other side of the field hop into the hedge. I new there was holes in that spot as I had one there last year. But I headed for the wood as the hedge is not the easiest and decided to save it for later if we didn't find any thing. Into the wood and the first thing on the agenda was a squirrel so a mad kamikaze dash over the bits of wire and god knows what after that. Once he got that out

Been giving mine a workout standing up so far bloody hell if them holes get any easier you won't need to get out the truck

I can't swim so I am afraid mine would be on his own much as I think a lot of him. Our local estuary when the water is going out on a big tide it cuts like a river bank away and the huge volume of water flying by I often think if the dog went in he would be out to sea before I new it. Unless he could drift out of the flow. Glad his on the mend

Mine did that last year only mine goes 10 yards the opposite direction and he put it down for it to run off and he had to catch it again. It happened to coincide with him nailing a squatter and getting a right mouth full of mud and fur. Maybe related maybe not. But it only lasted a few trips and he soon got fed up of them running off. Now he still goes in the opposite direction but keeps them pinned till i get there. If they try run off he just pushes them onto the floor until I take them

Yeh she's bang on ferreting mate. Great with ferrets and reliable marker. I am sold then mate cracking dog. Could taking shooting and all sorts. I guess the bull slows the cocker down a bit because my pet one has only gone one speed and thats a run lol even at 10

Very handy dog gaz and coming on well for you. Is she ok with ferrets ?

Time spent letting the dog recover will be well spent now and get it hopeful right for life then or the best shot at it. I heard that a few times and its true. Difficult with young dog but got to be done

She famous as one them reality show families I think and her rear end. Just guessing here Wouldn't wish it on any one but she was wearing a ring worth 3 million for gods sake. The money some have is ridiculous when you think of the good could be done with that sort of dosh

yea and when I said quality clips i wasnt being sarcastic lol they really are so give a good old clonk when they tap on the box. I just like to be very when i am creeping about in the cover. In my dreams lol
-
I have one of the boxes in the back row. Ample room in either side compartment and the centre holds a locator and a few nets. Plus the box is a pleasure to carry My only complaint is joks high quality clips for holding the latches shut rattle like mad and do my head in so I use a thick cable tie folded over works a treat and silent

Not a very relaxing way to spend your morning lol

I'm tempted to try the oxo tip next time I cook roasties, I know the Mrs won't do it, she would consider it sacrilege! I've got a mate that sprinkles his roasties with some packet herb mix from the supermarket, reckons it's alright. give it a go just gives them an extra flavour to make a change
-
I know where i won't find one thats on me bloody head

First of the sprouts today the youngest daughter loves them fried with bacon. One plot is tidy for the winter and the other one is not . Meant to plant my garlic today but forgot so will try and get that in next weekend -
Out this morning at first light in fact a bit before with the heavy fog it was still dark at 6.30. In my wisdom I picked a nice dark pine wood to work. Could make out some shadows of rabbits and my black dog streaking about all good fun but he couldn't get them to ground and headed for the thick cover. Ran these holes through just in case but no luck into a big old valley then waste deep brambles. The dog got a scent and started casting across the bank working the cover. He was just a spec in the distance struggling through. When along came mr rabbit you can just make him out sitting t
