Handy to have about your person if your out and about you never know. Especially when you walk out onto a sand bar in the fog and dark and lose your sense of direction with the tide coming in

Not much to say just lots to pick, Pretty hard to start any thing off seed wise with the dam sluds taking stuff out row at a time. The old caterpillars are going hard at it too My raspberries baffle me. I can't decide if they are autumn or summer fruiting. They start in the summer then fade out then crack on again. I thought they had finished but today then got caught out with fruit every where but all too far gone -
Probably like any thing else as soon as you want it. Its worth a bloody fortune even it has never been trod on for 30 years. But you never know

I walked through the village one morning with a dog and the ferret box and I think I made it about half a mile before I had a cid car pull along side me and question me. Nice lady though and good as gold and wished me good luck ferreting. She was just doing her job. It was the curtain twitcher who ever it was I have an issue with

Funny you should say that I was only thinking yesterday how a lurcher I had once we had such a great bond because he never gave me cause to be firm on him. He just did every thing right and it made life easy. Compared to the one now who I have had to be firm with on occasion and if I am honest he has got away with stuff he maybe shouldn't. In hind site I should have done things different a few times. But if they won't listen or get the message your options start to run out. If my dog had his way he would be on the settee and I would be on the floor and he wouldn't do sod all he didn't want t

I cycle 16 miles most days to work on a 30 quid bike. Got lucky mind as it is an old touring model. Plenty of good hybrid bikes about going cheap. Unless of course you fancy the lycra road bike look

I have had a few dogs and I couldn't fault them back then and my little JR in particular was a special fella. But I have decided to enjoy the one I have now. Even though he is a pain in the ass his the dog I have and I intend to enjoy him regardless

Timid/scared Saluki Cross Pup
terryd replied to Mat_1994's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Poor wee thing... Firstly,..and most importantly,..forget all about Saluki this or that,..for, all things being equal,..his cross-bred lineage frequently means nowt.... He is, simply a frightened and confused young animal....your job,..if you decide to take it,..is to reassure him that if you are around, nothing can harm him. You have to be the man,..walk tall,..stand in front of anything or anyone that might spook him....protect him,...give him time.... All dogs are different,...I've owned herding breeds that have been raised on remote farms and who are virtually wild animals -
Yes true hope you get sorted and back out at some point

Beans coming out my ears now the runners are also picking up speed a simple snack and a simple dinner. My gran used to cook this as a kid it was a fav of mine. Fry some bacon then lob a tin of toms or fresh ones in this case on top with a bit bisto or beef granules so basically beefy tom flavour going on. Then lob it on top of some mash with home grown spuds and a slice of bread I also wish I still had a van as I really pee the wife off -

Thats true I had a hand full of builders that wouldn't go near the gate the other day until the wife said it was ok. He has a dam deep menacing bark and the looks to match. Not an attribute I wanted but the house and family are safe with him in it

Made a start tonight disassembling my first pallet. Got some nice new ones. But the nails are not thin wire things but bloody great things driven right in. Saw a youtube vid of some guy with two boards just levering the lengths off. But no chance first bit of pressure and all i heard was crack crack. Next plan was to get the aldi parktool saw out with the metal blade fitted and saw through the nails. Made some progress with that though bit slow. But the boards came off nice and clean. Wonder if a nice sharp bolster would work

If you looking for a recipe good one here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/326279-easy-blackberry-jam/ microwave jam is the way to go saves a lot of pissing about and you don't need to make a ton at a time. Made a cracking raspberry one this year using a women's institute recipe
