Not quite, but did a 4ft jump at best today, and now she knows she can do it, I'm sure there'll be more.

Not bad for 4 months :)

  6. Personally, I think there's a lot out there who shouldn't own a dog of any breed...
  7. Who's Robbie Williams? A singer from the old days? I only know people like Tinie Tempah and Labrinth
  8. I didnt always agree with Johns views in his column, but he was a solid shooting character. TBH I've only just heard (from the OP) that he had died, I knew he was in a hospice. RIP John Humphreys.
  9. I think staffs entered the thread as a poster commented he'd had problems with his as the op had done. No-one was making a proper comparison between pet bull breeds and a full on working bull x. Once my bull x is working flat out, I'll look at making a comparison myself. Interestingly enough, whenmy bull x arrived as a little puppy, the rest of the pack were definitely more wary of her compared to other pups entering the pack.
  10. Sounds like the owner could do with a connection with a steel toe cap to me- what an idiot!
  11. If i was in the Market for another, I'd be very interested- sounds like a good rabbiting mix.
  12. Yeah, my pair wont take nonsense but don't go 'ape-shit', just a growl and a snap and leave it at that when any other dog tries it on with them. Even then, it's incredibly rare that other dogs do anything but come and 'say hello' as most are well socialised.
  13. Good account there thanks edrd. Punctuation style seems uncannily familiar lol Atb Duncan
  14. Odd. I've had staffs for years and never a problem with them. Must be how I raise them?
  15. Dog training tomorrow - jumping :)

  16. Result! Better than my local gunshops would have offered. I had bought my HW60J for £640 brand new, and was told 3 weeks later that no shop would offer me more than £300 for it as a trade in! Turned me off buying brand new guns, I can tell you!
  17. There are very few dogs that can't be corrected from such behaviour IMHO, and I feel that the handler and presenter were at fault as their actions and inactions caused that defensive nip to happen. I certainly wouldn't say that the young dog is a 'bad to the core' dog that needs to be destroyed, it just needs to be handled correctly.
  18. Would it affect the amount of enjoyment of doing it? I guess all roosts are different, wind speeds, numbers of birds coming in etc etc all have a bearing. 19 is a fair tythe from an average roost though - you don't want to be greedy lol
  19. Good price. Is that the going rate?
