  2. I suppose they'd be pretty useless if they didn't and then I'd be moanin! Its good to hear I'm not the only one. I guess she'll learn, as all my other dogs have - they come back impeccably when called. It's easy to keep patient with a pup as you know all pups have to have their 'fenton' moments to learn where the line is drawn. Ps thanks for the 'heads up' - I feel a bit more prepared knowing running dogs can be a bit 'wayward'
  3. I didn't Sorry you though i was talking about myself lol!
  4. On todays walk I took the whole pack, rather than taking my lurcher pup, Roxy, separately. When they were off-lead and running and playing they spotted a couple and their spaniel. I whistled the pack back to heel and they all obliged as usual, apart from Roxy. No amount of calling or whistling was heeded as she was focused on playing with the dog in the distance. I headed over to get her and when we'd closed to a hundred yards, she suddenly decided to come. Naturally, I had to tell her off and she stayed on the lead for the rest of the walk as a lesson, whilst the rest of the pack played a

  6. My HW60J in .17hmr is perfect. That's why I'm looking to trade up to the same in .22
  7. If the clean n service doesn't do the job, get a gunsmith to give the sears some attention; probably worn smooth and needs a bit of filing. Cheers Duncan. PS - double discharge using goose loads would rattle your sphincter lol!

  13. Last I heard from Joe wasn't the best news. With the best will in the world I feel so powerless to help him. It's a massive shame as he's such a solid genuine gent. Re the eating of brancher rook - if I can make them taste delicious and expensive, it's the others who will be missing out lol! You're a long way north aren't you Les? Atb Duncan.

  17. Hi folks, It makes a change for me to be looking for a trip out rather than offering one, but I could do with some help. I'm looking for rookeries not too far from Bedford, Milton Keynes or Northampton, further afield if the journey will be worth it, as Id love to do a proper brancher day this coming may. I have a rookery on my permission, but as numbers on it have dropped lately I'd really like to let it rest and shoot my brancher day elsewhere. I love the taste of branching rook and would happily cook some on site for anyone who can offer me a day out on them. Brancher day is May 12th
  18. It depends on how shite the cook is! If you tried my branchers, you'd eat your words my friend
