  1. Kind of what I was thinking - had a friend with a similar bred dog who used it for flush n kill type shooting. He had to get the quarry off the dog fast if he retrieved (?!) it or the greedy fecker would eat it pretty damn fast lol
  2. Quite right Rob, are the dh x's the best all out rabbiting dogs? Probably not, but a lot seem to get more than satisfactory results from them. The thing is, there are 'horses for courses', but then there's having a choice and preference for the mix of your hunting dog. My own dog is definitely overkill for purely rabbiting and I reckon she'd take any prey that came her way if the law allowed, but she is beautiful to me and I am smitten It is good to have a choice, or we'd all have beddy or collie whippet crosses (not there's anything wrong with them at all!) as rabbits is all we're lega
  3. I think the OP covered his reasons for not wanting to blatt rabbits.
  4. Thanks Dean. Was looking at some of the weihrauch range, partly the reason I wanted a used one. Out of my price range now. Now to get familiar with their model numbers o.O Quality is remembered, long after the price paid is forgotten
  5. I'd also recommend the Weihrauch springers. Especially the 95 and 97k's. Fantastic rifles
  6. i don't fancy being caught with a dead raptor and a shotgun in the boot lol!
  7. HEHEHEHE, with any luck lol Tegater! I've seen a few roadkill buzzards in the last few weeks too, and the thought crosses my mind that I hope no-one thinks it was killed by gamekeepers/shooters etc. Sad we end up thinking like that.
  8. missus seems to think she's allergic to conifers so not sure if these will be the same?? :hmm: might need to try and find a hedge of them and push her in to them and see if she swells lol :boogy: :boogy: Of course, she doesn't need to go climbing them lol!
  9. Yep, done it. They grow to the height you choose - then you top them and trim them twice a year. I've got some truly repugnant neighbours and my hedge blocks their repulsive image from my view quite satisfactorily No legal battle as i didn't let them get ridiculously high - 15 ft and no more.
  10. And didn't feel a thing. The daft git swooped down and picked up half a dead bunny, then took off in the path of my vehicle. No chance to swerve and at 50 odd mph there was a pretty hefty BANG and I saw him spiral off to the verge in my door mirror. Years ago, I'd have been mortified, but following their success story they are bloody everywhere! Especially across the front of my mirror support lol! Anyway, Alex Hogg would be happy to know there's one less to worry about.
  11. Welcome aboard mate! Don't worry about the pest control but not shooting bunnies thing. I took my 'little' brother out a few years back and as a kid he'd had pet rabbits but thought he'd be cool with seeing a rabbit getting shot. We were up on a dutch barn and a bunny came out 30 yards away. i took it with his rifle he'd bought and it slumped over, still with grass in its mouth. Proud of my clinically perfect shot, I turned to look at him. He'd gone grey! Funnily enough, I've taken him pigeon shooting with shotguns recently and he was fine with it! Killed a few himself too. Good l
  12. Hi all, my good friend Chris is selling his Logun mk2 carbine; beautifully crafted with rosewood cap and tip, walnut stock. Built in magazine, incredibly smooth bolt action. Serviced 2 months ago by R & K Stockcraft in Stony STratford, Bucks with new valve and seals and produces a very consistent 11.6 fpe. The service items carry the balance of the 12 month guarantee so no worries there. In fact the whole rifle was built to last a lifetime, using only the best materials from butt to muzzle. Originally, this rifle sold for approx £1000 and carried a lifetime warranty. I have fired thi

  14. All good down here mate- shame there's not more quarry about but having a good laugh all the same. Will have to have a gander at the thread mate
  15. Crackin rifle Chris but you've probably priced it a bit low old fruit About a grand new weren't they? I've had a go with this rifle and it certainly is as good as you'd expect of a rifle of this calibre. Good luck with the sale mate! ATB Duncan
