  1. It makes sense to have a spare set. Otherwise, if you lose a key, you'll have to grind your way into your safe, and of course buy a new safe!
  2. I found Eleys were bulllet on bullet out to 60 yards - the best by far thru my CZ452. I found CCI grouped terribly, worse than any other brand, by a large margin. Wouldn't touch em with a barge pole.
  3. rabbit skin tennis balls 3.50 sporting saint dont cost a FORTUNE FFS Hadn't seen them that cheap! Never mind, 5 minutes to do a ball and a 20p tennis ball with fur I get free anyway... I'm happy - leave me be!
  4. Having both too, I have to agree with 223. If I could only have one, it would be the .22 But I do like having the hmr for longer range shots and corvids in particular. The hmr is a good hedgerow covering tool.
  5. They look damn keen RJ! Love the avatar pic too
  6. Don't forget the sparrows n wrens Seriously though, a good choice the tx. Have you had much of a go with it yet ?
  7. Thanks guys - more to try! A lot of test rides to be booked, but its a lot of moolah to make the wrong decision with.
  8. I've just started tanning my skins and the best I've got so far is a rabbit ball and a cushion. Both were for training my lurcher pup, but the cushion is too nice lol! Will be making more rabbit skin coated tennis balls as they work an absolute treat as a training aid and cost a fortune on ebay!
  9. Good luck mate - you're asking for the right thing! A bit of help rather than asking for a permission. If you werent 90 miles away, I'd say you can come out with me and I (and anyone solid) wouldn't want any kind of fee for having you along as a guest. Decent folk here like putting something back into the sport. I hope you find someone close by to give you what you ask for. ATB Duncan

  12. I notice a few wrx's and I almost bought one too. It was that or an S type Jaguar. The eldest lad said he wouldn't be seen dead in a mitsubishi 'chav mobile' so I said I'd get one to save myself a shed-load of fuel! Ended up with the S though; somehow classier than a car that often has a picnic tray spoiler! And I like my luxuries (heated leather memory seats, electric everything, etc etc etc). Still goes like stink when I press the sports button and doesn't have too much of a drink problem! Not many beemers i notice; probably just as well. They seem to turn decent people into tossbags a
  13. was that at about the same time Paul? BTW, all but 2 of the pigeons I dealt with were absolutely stuffed with rape! At least we know where they were feeding
  14. On a beautiful sunny afternoon, I went out with Paulus to shoot his local roost with him. We've had some blindingly good times on the roost, hitting a lot of very challenging birds an generally having a good crack and giving flash sone tricky retrieves to do (haven't seen flash fail on a retrieve yet). Last time we were there, there were some lads shooting from the other side of the wood. Not a problem in itself, but we finished 1/2 hour or more before dark to allow the pigeon time to roost for the night- the decent thing to do. These lads didn't but carried on til it was too dark to shoot
  15. Enough, lol! I'll give one a test ride when I'd the other tigers.
  16. sorley boy was 2 centurys before william mate and he kicked with the wrong foot Lmao- kicked with the wrong foot- great expression lol!
  17. Poor f****r, looks like she just wants to die. The owner shouldn't have dogs. Ever.
  18. A good post and a good read- thanks I think that exercising lurchers with a lot of other dogs can be problematic too. I only take my lurcher out for exercise with the whole pack once a week. She is certainly more bidable without the other dogs around and just better behaved. Any training I do is one on one with her and to me, retrievIng is one of the most important skills a dog needs to have, so it's one I'll keep reinforcing.
  19. I've an hmr Weihrauch HW60j, but in .22 I've had cz. Now I'm trading upto Weihrauch for.22 as well- incredibly accurate, outstanding build quality and really well grained walnut stock. Trigger is an absolute peach as well. I've nothing against cz, I just prefer Weihrauch. Wish I'd not bought cheap and bought twice, with hindsight.
  20. Yp, thanks JB there you are. Hallooooo! Number hasn't changed though so perhaps I'll just bash the side of the lappy? and its OK ferretess, I kind of expected stalkers when I joined a hunting site I'm not really worried about the counter thing, just bugs me cos I don't know why lol.
  21. Shiny side up! Thanks for the sentiment Mintstick999
