  5. well done to you and the dog. good start to her lamping life.
  6. when i started going out lamping i used my fathers set up which was a motorbike battery in a wooden box with a matchstick broke off in the breather pipe to stop the acid from leaking out. i had a LR6 with a copper handle with a micro switch and mower cable.

  8. pup looks a cracker D Lloyd atb with her.
  9. as has allready been said most crosses will catch rabbits on the lamp. the ground you hunt on will sometimes play a part in which dog is best suited. some places you need a fast dog other places steady plodders will do just fine.
  10. cheers Tomo. i am glad ive finally found some rabbits, might have another spot like that aswell got to go and check it out.
  11. i got strongstuff to make me a couple of leads which i use to carry my rabbits on, i gut them then leg them straight onto the lead. i will drop rabbits off at gateways when or if the opertunity arrises on my walk. i dont use rucksacks as somtimes i crawl the small holes in the hedgerows and i just find they get caught up to much.
  12. ive seen and worked a couple of first cross beddy whippets and they were good workers both day and night.
  13. to be honest there isnt as much game around me as usall. the normal hot spots havent had the rabbits this year at all. i have started looking further a field and have finally found a good spot or two. my best spot up untill last week was one that had practically no rabbits there at the end of last season, and what was there had myxi. much to my suprise i had 38 rabbits of that spot first night and have taken a few decent bags there since. its odd how it was the least populated spot end of last season and has the most this season.
  14. thanks Dazz. birds got a thing with giving his dogs a name starting with "B" hes had one called Blaze aswell lol. my dog was allready called buster when i picked him up at 7 weeks old. the kids at the home i got him from had named him that because he was a buster when he was born. the biggest in the litter by all accounts.
  15. thanks. i never had my coat with me as usall, i had only got a jumper and T-shirt on i was bloody soaked through. i got a bit cold at one point.
  16. well done chaps. great write up, now thats a trip and a half.
  17. as the conditions were good for lamping lastnight i phoned bird and asked him if he fancied a nights lamping. i arranged for a early start on a spot of permission just up the road that produced a small bag of 10 rabbits. after doing the first spot i moved to another which i was unable to lamp as there was a thick fog there, that was that idea knackered so i moved onto another spot which held a good amount of rabbits. the closest ive ever seen to being like one of Tomo's spots i lamped with him up the dales just a few weeks ago. i wasnt use to the ground so struggled to get into the bes
  18. if it was a deer as close to your house as that fox then i reckon it would have been in the bag, nice easy carry that lol. its a shame for any animal to have to die like that and decent of you to let it go.
  19. thanks. i will be looking to get one about that sort of size instead of the bigger ones. couple of good pics there aswell
