    had bird over today to take my 11 year old nephew out on his secound ferreting trip with his first ever ferrets. (a nice couple of gill kits) we got to our spot for the day and set off to our first set of warrens which my old dog trigger and rays bryn both looked over, there was no one home. anyway the next 2 or 3 warrens again didnt give us a scent and produce a mark for us. so off we went on to the next warren under a small tree and my old dog trigger give a mark which is something he dont always do, the mark was secounded by bryn so we netted up and within a minute or so we had a bo

    you wouldnt believe how relieved i was that we had a bit of sport for you Tomo. i felt under pressure to provide some rabbits as its not every day i get a lad who hunts up the dales out on a invite down my way

    a lad offered me £25 for it so i let him have i told him it had gone flat on me after 33 rabbits he wasnt bothered he just wanted for a spare incase his run flat.

    feck me that pup of yours looks a strong animal in that pic. hes got some knuckle on him too by the looks of things, hes going to be a fair lump when hes finishe growing.

    i have just altered the diet for my dog. hes on 2lb of raw mince chicken a day and 3 cups of supa dog active. seems to suit him just fine. i will feed venison and rabbits on times aswell insted of so much meal.

    ive got a 14 amp lithium mate. had it 3 years so its served me well and ive had alot of use out of it. got to save my pennies now and get another one perhaps for christmas, ive lost my trust in my battery now so it will always be in the back of my mind that it wont last the night.

    i made a bit of a spur of the moement decision yesterdyay afternoon and phoned bird to pop down for a little lamping trip. i had taken advantage of sunday nights weather and put my dog to the test, so i wasnt really planning on going out. any in the end i thought i may aswell go for a small run out on the lamp with bird and his dog bryn. got to my spot and thought it was reasonably light and the rabbits appeared to be able to see us and snuck away quietly but we persisted, and before we knew it we droped into a small pocket of rabbits by the time we hit the drop off point we had bang on 20

    when i first started out i used a LR6 with a copper handle on it which was heavily tape'd up. i had that connected to a motorbike battery in a little wooden box with car seatbelt for a strap. had a matchstick broke off in the breather on the battery to stop the acid leaking all over the place.

    its nice to see theres a good few still out there hunting with the dogs in there 60s and that they have been at it for years, just shows you how strongly the hunting bug can get you. i hope i am still able to get out and about with my dogs in 30 years time. atb lads and happy hunting.

    well done lads. sounds like theres some good hunting trips to be had there in the near future. in one respect its nice to have a spot next door that no ones allowed on as it will keep numbers up for you. but on the other hand it would be nice to jump the wall/fence and get on the neibouring farm for a hunting session.

    the most i can remember catching on the bounce was 9 but to be honest i havent really taken all that much notice when out. the reason i counted the 9 was because i had them up the one hedgerow in a small paddock and i was lucky enough to have a gail blow and a spot of rain for what felt like about 5 minutes to aid me with catching them, but must of been longer.
