    I use a wheelie bin, the kind you get from the old folks bungalows (smaller one) take off the wheels and cut it down to your size, add some seat belt for straps, Mine was a damaged one I got from the council Its real comfy on the back and easy to wash out, add holes so it dont fill up with water. Its also good for lamping as you just pop the bunnys over ones shoulder and inn.

    I will keep you up to date on the trials otc from the high moor any way, as year on year catches by each keeper are documented and in a diary so dates weather conditions loation ect are logged, so a good comparison could be made, this of course wont happen over night.     Hi otc, the thing with my idea was never about the tech or trying to re invent the wheel as it were on traps, the market and proof was allready tested on the majority of traps, my idea was just to make them more efficient by placing on a call, as it would by using probably one of our best senses hearing, eg, you lose your mobile down the couch instead of looking for it for ages you ring it off your house phone finding it far quicker it was this principle i was working on.     Thanks otc, My idea came about whilst talking to my keeper friend as said, the estate he runs is as you guest a high moor estate of around 8,000 acre, and has hundreds of traps set across it, he only has the problem certain times of year when rabbits are juvenile and the main target for the traps are weasle stoat and rats. The idea from my point of view was just a housing over the fen trap with this call on, and as you say it needed to be cheap. so i came up with a idea that would cost little and be easy to install also it would fit on existing housings, then that would cost even less c

    The idea came to me when i was speaking to the a keeper friend of mine last summer, he said he was sick of young rabbits setting off his bridge traps, even though he has cages over them and narrow entrances ect. I joked you need a distress call of a rabbit to deter the rabbits draw in the stoat, he thought the idea was good idea.     lol no fox problem this thread was just re assure me that in the eyes of the experts on htl there is only one way of trapping bait, placement and patience, people dont like change thats true but trapping methods have been the same for hundreds of years.

    I dont get into arguments on here so if there your views fine, other animals will respond to the distress call of a rabbit like weasel or stoat just to name a couple, having animals as a decoy not legal larsan trap with a call bird, And what im saying about pot luck is yes you use your knowlage of the intended prey but i will give you a analigy . picture yourself in a field the size of a football pitch the grass is 4/5 inches long, your looking for something the size of a match stick how long will it take to find? say that match stick sized thing is a grass hopper cherping away do you thing

    I have been working on a few ideas I have for trapping up on a shooting estate I go on, The keeper said something that got me thinking a bit. And it goes a bit like this most traps are placed in areas were vermin are last seen evidence of activity, places were they may cross or on runs ect ect. The most common ides to effective trapping comes down to the right Bait and the reliability of the trap and the waiting game.     As a kid my dad used to smoke a pipe and cigars, every monday morning when i was getting ready for school i had to suffer the smell of my dads bad arse from the ale and the smell of the pipe or cigars in the bathroom as i brushed my teeth.     light force lamp its the middle size one so think its a 170, second hand and in used condition its had a replacement switch but is white it is in good working order recent bulb, the battery is 7ah and is also used and ok for short outings. £45 west yorks

    Theres a couple of things you can do, one being micro chipping the other is tattooing, the micro chipping is good if you have a adult dog the tattooing is only for pups, and there is a organisation called the national dog tattoo register that will come out to your home and do your pups. Both these methods will tie a dog to a person, but ive heard it said off people they would not want that because what if my dog causes a accident, what if im out poaching and my dog gets caught, in my opinion these are not valid reasons for not getting your dog chipped.
