  7. On the long ears I used to wait till they were 18 months but held the deerhound crosses back a bit longer I was always brought up to do this too, with my dogs been mainly bred for rabbits, and the odd hare/fox (pre ban) but i have been wondering more and more about the out and out coursing bred dogs, what age do the coursing men start them off, and any entering tricks of the trade, so the young dog gets some confidence in catching, and isnt set to fail time after time, on good strong hares (preban) ive heard it mention that saluki types mature slower so do they hold them back and at
  8. Theres alot said about what cross, what land ect, i was wondering at what age for these coursing dogs to start out, i have never owned a out and out coursing dog pre ban, but the lurchers i have owned was always over 18 months before i entered to running a hare thats the way i was brought up, the majority of my dogs was only bred for rabbits and the odd hare/fox pre ban, So these specialist bred dogs at what age do you expect them to be mature enough mentally and physically to run a hare, and going back to topic is this were the land size, time of year ect comes into it?

Im seriously thinking of parting with my saluki cross dog, its male, about 25 inch tall, and about 14 month old he is well bred and from top lines, he lives out and kenneled with another dog and is very quiet, the reason im thinking of parting with him is i had offers to go on land but since i got the dog its all fallen through, and i would say the dog is bred for one thing ! he is bred out of "MINI" which is of the Whiteman x Cathy and the sire is tommy mlvny's "DANDY" some very good dogs in his breeding on both sides serious offers only pls any questions pm me
