I said in another post earlier that the dales can be a bit like trawling for fish sometimes you go and drop on do 50 rabbits without breaking sweat and go back near that area a second time and struggle like you say you drop on pockets of them once took my mate postie and langly charmer around swaledale it started to snow and were I wanted to go was up on a real steep incline and the motor wouldnt get up so off we went els were around the keepers house the land was not producing so I went across the valley to another estate and got into the bunnys paul was in his element running around killing

How Far Out Would You Fish On A Small Boat
2.8 guy replied to 2.8 guy's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
A well informed piece as always TC, It will be a learning curve for sure for me im really looking forward to getting to grips with the sea and how things work on it or in it. I take it the fish finders show a mass or indicate on the screen that you have got to a spot holding fish have you used them and are they any good? -

Ive hunted for years on three shooting estates around reeth and ive always said its like trawling for fish some times you go and knock off 50 rabbits easy then go back a week later next to nothing in the same place, go round the corner say a mile and your back on so im hoping so lol -

I was just reading that a guy over in america who is a fishing writer often fishes 50 to 60 miles off shore on a 17 ft boat and says in rough seas a small boat can have advantages over larger craft. What size boat do you have and how far out do you fish and what sort of conditions?http://www.sportfishingmag.com/boats http://www.sportfishingmag.com/boats/boating-skills FFS carnt do the link lol

The tender has a outboard I was just fancying something different and for its size the fun yak has a much higher carrying capacity and hopefully a little more stable.

I have a small rowing boat/tender about 11 foot long and had this yeoman cougar I would like to do a bit of sea fishing not too far out just to get the feel and taste for it but really what ever will be safe for me and the boat I would prefer a smaller boat so it could be managed better by myself or just two but would prefer some weather protection too. I did think about the fun yak as the rib types seem to be taken out in pritty bad seas for there size (not that it would be my intention) but with its construction be safe to fish off too. I did see a nice bonwitcho type in cornwall cheap bu

Anyone Wait For Perfect Conditions ??
2.8 guy replied to whitefeet4190's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Going back when I started yes I was brought up and taught only if the night was right but that said if the conditions was good enough there was no excuses for not going out and that was expected of me but to put this into context the best night ive ever had round local was 21 rabbits and that was between three of us each catching seven and being out from 12 till 5 ish These days I hardly go out round local and head off up north were theres many more rabbits and they are much easier caught and a very average night can produce 30 rabbits in a breath in comparison It all depends on you
