  1. I wish I had that dog from a pup he was well bred like you say but would try the patience of a saint at times, I run him alot and he could run a real nice stamp of a dog and very game for his breeding, I was only asking after him last week and some days hes turbo tommy somedays hes tommy the tit but his new owner likes him from what ive heard and hes at a good home.

  4. Another begins... For the past god knows how long ive lived my life around the running dogs and field sports in the season im out hunting and out of the season im doing my best to keep the permisions ive gained over the years by helping out on the estates that I hunt on. This is also ruled by a season after the shooting stops its catch up time with the traps/ vermin, swapping non medicated grit to medicated grit (wormers) after this it on with the heather burning which leads me to helping out with some much needed labour it keeps me in the fold and to be honest I enjoy it but I keep sa
  5. Just a quick one What is in your opinion the best coursing blood in the country and what line or dogs to look out for when litters are advertised or if you get the nod on a litter. I don't subscribe to the what type of land you running on a good dog can catch its chosen on any, thoughts and opinions please.
  6. Got the tracer version and at first thought it was ace then noticed the lens was loose/rattly then after a night out in the rain the lens steamed up so check the seal around the lens for movement. At the end of the day there less than twenty quid from china jbl on alibaba .com so I suppose its what you can expect.

  11. Darren my mates pup is white and brown and is a very simlar stamp to yours I thought the color was unusual for that cross, I had great fun with mine she was like my best mate I wouldnt have called her a natural retriever by any means but in work would fetch them to hand balls and dummys was a big no no. But without doubt the best rabbiting and mouching dog ive ever owned FRAN a best friend.

  15. I have a glass cabinet with all my fond memories in there at the back is the last years card of the waterloo cup along with the badge sad it ended, but have some fond memories of attending as a lad in the start going with the older guys then hiding in the boot so we didnt have to pay, and in later days driving the old lads as they was all fecked can remember pulling up one morning at some traffic lights in my old astra diesel and us lot in tweed jackets sporting flat hats then this porshce pulls along side with this very well kept blond stunner driving as I looked across I gave a cheeky wink
  16. Basenji wouldn't be great for mooching I don't imagine - they can't bark ! And if you mean those African Painted Dogs then that's quite interesting actually - they reckon they separated from Canis Lupus after the fox so POTENTIALLY could be bred to a domestic dog but they're not 100% as no one has ever tried if I remember rightly No I wasnt on about the painted dog, I watched a program on the sentanal tribe of africa and on there it showed them hunting with there dogs they looked very much like the basengi but called them sentanal hounds excuse the spelling the program was very intere
  17. Them basengi dogs of africa look pritty handy in there own right for mooching, but im sure I once watched a program on dogs that showed africans with tame wild dogs called sentinal but did a quick search and didnt find what I was looking for hence the mention of the besengi but it was a real handy looking hunting companion and it wasnt a wild dog that looked like a hyena like the ones at yorkshire animal park.
  18. Try the gamehide briar proof pants there pritty tough were they need to be find them on amozon ray.

  22. I have a few more trips out planned im not doing too bad really to say I wasnt going to be as serious this year the wife says you say that every year Ive done a little bit of everything over the season but what ever the seen the people im talking to are saying the same there ready for winding it up. But is it just me or does the season seem to be getting shorter starting later and ending sooner its a shame really as im just getting in my stride as my dog has only just starting to click this last few months. Looking forward to the summer though going to get in the fishing and try out my s
  23. When I was younger I was taught what a running dog should be by my superior and older mentors who had the knowlege and experience through working dogs years before me, they had good dogs and new how to get the best from them the proof for me was what they was catching and how there dogs behaved they also showed me that in pursuit of there game sometimes its more about the man behind the dog in the sense that you have to walk the walk to get that game in front of the dog. As I grew older I formed my own opinions on what I wanted from a dog (I look back now about being talked into re homing
  24. Ive been taking a steady approach to rabbiting this year mostly because my young dog hasnt really shown anything that has really impressed me, she has however started to improve over the last couple of months and a few steady jaunts out have been proving fruitful getting ten or so runs and calling it a night in the beginning her catch rate was shocking mainly being down to her laid back running style and not showing any real prey drive. A week or so ago I had a jolly out on the lamp and she was really showing commitment running at stuff hard and at times maybe being a bit over keen but I
