I use a v 3x9x50 on a rifle, I think what you have to look out for is were its made, the one I use was made in japan, but was told that they made some later ones in china and there to be avoided.

Hi, looking for some info on a scope my mate has on his .22 rimfire, its a rws 4x40 scope made in japan its got a thick rubber coated outer and the cross hairs are three thick lines one from either side and one up from the bottom which is pointed, I don't know if its milatary but I really like the scope and would like to know what it is so I can try get one.
