worked on a small ferry on river tyne as a young man & there was a large bone yard infested with rats and i did spot a few black ones they were no bigger tho few years later an old chap asked me to accompany him to the back of the local cemetry to witness at least adozen coloured rats feeding up the elderberry trees [ishot most of them over a few days ]-billy

if all the ferreting lads among you just dropped a few live ones here and there in places that cant be lamped ferreted etc they would build up and spread to spots where you can lamp ferret etc me and a mate done this a long time ago and it was mental after a few years but sadly mixy was put down and it dropped the numbers dramatically-billy -

went for a sneak about yesterday in the hope of a squirrel or two but ended up with these two the crow was a cracking shot from 25 yds between branches and magpie made the mistake of being nosey and was shot whilst attacking the dead crow!-billy

as above mate make it easy for her i had same probs and it worked for me but NEVER be afraid or EMBARRASSED to give your dog a helping hand in these situations [trust /bond ] comes to mind- good luck billy

dont know why lads but cant bring myself to gut /skin one im not squeemish or anything as ive skinned sheep deer bunnies etc but them squizzers bring a shiver up my spine must be a mental block somewhere that i must get over-billy

depends on dog mate mine was 9 months and he took to it no bother but my mates is a bit iffy at the same age so iff in doubt let it come on a bit 1st

thats a fair comment mate but i only keep the air rifle maybe if i were in your position i may re consider as a few lads i know were the same like minded as me but once they obtained shot gun licenses they changed there ways

was lamping many moons ago and it came on top with me and mate surrounded by keepers /farmhands and i warned them not to come any nearer or i would set dog on them ,so one moved forward and i said to dog "get him" only for the twat to start biting me! we got a good hiding and anight in the cells if i remember -stupid dog [cracking hare dog tho ]-billy -
sorry lads but all this staying within the law stuff bores me to tears ivebeen shooting for as long as i can remember [for ever!] and always sneaked about potting a few bunnies off and if one just uses ones loaf and does it like i did your more likely to NOT get caught i have loads of permission now so dont need to do it BUT i still do ive had a few close calls lads and im sure loads of you have done it but wont admit it so if i were this lad i would creep into the area and plug a couple off ! now im waiting to be slated by the good guys

hi im billy from jarrow i use rapid 7 in .22 and logun mk 1 in .22 and shoot wooded areas in chestele street whooler shotley bridge goodluck with finding a few spots for shooting

i used double sided sticky tape on mine and cut a few thin strips off the cloth to tidy any bits i missed i then gave it a spray with water proofing and its doing great mind you im scared to put it down in the woods lol -
