  1. iwas beating on saturday and guns left all low birds[rightly so in my opinion] but the birds they did shoot at were tremendous and the bag of 70 birds was achieved both keeper and guns happy at one point it didnt look like the 70 bird day would be achieved but fair play to the keeper he had a plan B and final 2 drives proved him right =billy
  2. been caught loads of time when i was a young un a boot up the arse ferrets shot nets took off me as i got older things just got more violent with certain keepers to the point me and my mates hated the twats farmers were angry &irate but sort of fair [if you know what i mean] had a few rolls about with keepers in my time locked up fined etc [not proud of it ] but them days were fecking great for us hunting lads [,s]

  8. went out in search of a few rats but never saw any! must be this drizzle /fog [soft beggars] any way spotted a bunny and crept upon it -no need really as the poor thing was riddled with mixy so i dropped it and put it out of its misery ,walked along one of the rides that keeper spreads a bit straw and corn on and spotted a jackdaw poking about it was a canny distance so i adjusted the cross hairs with about an inch above and squeezed the trigger and to my delight it lay stone dead so i paced it out [50yds] standing shot lads well pleased saw nothing else so called it a day
  9. terrano is a powerfull/reliable towing machine but a bit heavy on juice- -but quite cheap to buy -billy
  10. it all depends on how close you have her mate and how far the other dogs are [a dog that worksTOO far in front is no good to me -but one that only works 3 ft away from me isno good to me either ] i work koda so that he knows his distance allowed 30 odd feet i believe in giving a dog a bit of freedom to do what comes naturally ie hunt! if she gets too far just whistle her back in and start again ps i have been on shoots that let dogs run wild but its not my cuppa and it is ashame that your dog doesnt get many flushes you may have to find a different shoot mate that has well controlled
  11. thanks si xmas box is sorted
  12. just watched that vid and its brilliant lads cant get sound on pc so couldnt hear you talking through the nites sites capabilities so just one simple question lads nite site 200 put straight on gun from shop /retailer without any add ons is it crystal clear or do you need add ons etc to see rats bunnies etc? -billy
  13. nice gun mate this fog is here now and i was about to hit the golf course on coast but will check in next ten mins to see how far i can see -billy
  14. theres a few things you can try mate 1st one is go back to basics 2nd is use a long rope lead and lastly but one i will not do is electric collar but that doesnt say you cant go that route -billy
  15. for some reason or other ive been a lazy begger and after watching a little rat vid [on rapid forum] decided to kick into gear and off i went in search of a few rats of my own sothe trusty rapid came along and after a few hours around the pheasant pens managed these 4 long tails -billy
  16. its very hard to catch thistime of year mate but a mate caught 7 last week in one go using a dead bunny [large ladder trap type] if your desperate and can travel newcastle area i will see if he gets anymore [bit costly for a magpie tho ]-billy
  17. its got to be worth a try mate i borrowed a mates pet rabbit for a week and give it the run of my garden and he learnt his ways like that he still hunts them but knows its wrong to chase them when i peep him off with whistle just another little thing to try mate-billy
  18. sorry to hear of your predicament mate but why not try a longlead and walk a bit of ground that holdshares/bunnies then "any" attempt the dog makes you got control and can chastise him/her [&i mean really let the dog know!]-billy
  19. ive heard there very protective towards owner but like has been said find a good cattle dog [much braver type] and use it over a greyhound im sure you will get a good dog -billy ps i owned a cattle dog [border collie] and it had a heart of a lion

  21. this is why people stay clear of 1st cross collie gh mate it doesnt happen in any other crosses i just got over it and like i said done other stuff and mine was still going strong at ten yrs old then his liking of moggies was his downfall [road casualty]
  22. keep her mate and like has been said get yourself a little bunny dog ps your bitch will still be ok to take ferreting etc as collie crosses are great at marking i used mine for marking foxes for terrier lads-good luck -billy
  23. i would only get rid if bunnies is your main quarry -billy
  24. i owned a 1st x collie greyhound that was prolific on bunnies then i introduced it to teeth and bamby and it changed in a heart beat would only chase bunnies that it knew it had a chance of catching -now on the other hand it would run its socks off to make contact with teeth &bamby i nearly got rid of him but i m glad i didnt as he was a great fox &deer dog i actually used a pure collie for lamping a fewbunnies and he never developed the [brain trait] your dogwill never grow out of it so use it for the things it likes to give 100% to hope this makes a bit of sense-billy
