i didnt see many missed rabbits bob. in my opinion the peg is small which is put inside the hole so it did not work like a poke net once the rabbit hit the net it just pursed up as normal the small peg came out of the ground easy. The only advantage maybe slightly is when putting the ring in the hole with the peg pushed in. Nothing moved when spreading the net over the hole. He was a man who had his own way of doing things he thought it was better? Also the only man who would if he could when filling in a dig would try to leave the tube open by placing bricks wood etc down the sides and over t

thats an interesting little technique Thinking back terry he also had small pegs on one ring for going inside the hole attached by a decent size split link on the ring instead of twine on some nets.

Overwintering Peppers Overwintering Peppers - How to Successfully Overwinter Hot Pepper Plants! Most people are not aware that peppers are actually perennials! The reason they are usually grown as annuals is because the winter temperatures in most places will kill them. They are semi-tropical plants, and just cannot handle cold weather. However, it is possible to keep a pepper plant alive for several years, via a technique known as "overwintering". Overwintering is a method of providing a pepper with the proper growing conditions to keep it ali

True about the bantam broodies my light sussex are a pain but the leghorns dont go broody and lay well in the winter months.I don't mind them going broody as am always wanting to hatch something, they are great Broodies, one even sat on a nest for 9 weeks without an egg, ended up putting a few day old ducklings under her to get her out, she took to them instantly and still goes round the field with them in tow, she don't look happy when they go on the pond though ! My leghorns never seem to go broody either, and yes they do lay all year round i always hatch only a few each year the ligh

As said plenty of hybrids and colours to choose from but some burn out quickly on the egg laying front. pure breed birds you can still get some good laying strains edward boothman from keighley has some good strain light sussex rhode island red etc. Dont dismiss some breeds of bantams eat half the amount and birds like leghorns come in various colours lay very very well and a large sized egg for a bantam good luck with your choice.

Good Lurcher Training Book Recommendations
darbo replied to Blueboybilly's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Have a look on youtube the 3 purdeys progress vids if you have not already done so. Obedience training wise most lurcher books run through the basics a better bet would be a gundog training book in my opinion they usually give solutions to obedience training problems you may come across. -
Good stuff HC love collies.

As kids in the 70s used to try and catch pheasants with the collie dog used to have a go at rats with air rifles at the nearby sewage farm and tried to dig them out with a couple of russels on standby just messing about in reality. Got into the lamping/coursing ferreting early 80s. A couple of us had diana sp50 air pistols anyone remember them and shot jack shit with them happy days. There was some very good roach in the brook a run of from the canal. The sewage farm is behind the trees.

On the first plot i got nearly 30 years ago used to get marauding scumbags who used to smash up the greenhouses and burn the sheds down maybe worse than baboons. -
He helped me out with some issues regarding training late 80s a nice bloke who knows his stuff in my opinion.
