    i get mine direct from a farm that supplies the battery industry. £5.50 for a point of lay . isa brown egg machines.maybe there is a place near you like this.

    know how you feel. my last lurcher bitch died 2 years ago havent replaced her yet. just ferret with the beddy. thinks may change next year.a sad time for you and a sad loss. but he had a long life working. plenty dont get near that age. atb

    take your terrier that marks.try to find a small warren ie 4/5 holes that is occupied. enter the jill that knows the score. put the hob in right behind her. he should follow her in.try this it could spark him into working.it is essential when trying inexperienced ferrets/youngsters that you know warrens are occupied.if they kill in no matter.ferrets always enter to kill. its just the vast majority of the time the rabbits are too fast for them. ie bolts.

    seen some very good beddy/whippets over the years. a friend of mine had them for 30 years. made great marking/ferreting dogs. some a little headstrong to train. but cracking little dogs. seen some very good collie crosses ferreting and also some very good lurcher to lurcher . whippets seem very popular these days but i have no experience of them. but plenty of people on here seem more than happy with them. good luck with your search.

    mine was talking to a bloke in work when i was about 20. he had lurchers since he was a kid. asked him could a go out and see the dogs work. went out every weekend for 2 years before a got my own pup. during the years plenty of daytime/ nighttime work. but i only worked the dogs on hares and rabbits.last lurcher died 2 years ago. these days just ferret with a beddy.but i think a lurcher pup is on the cards maybe in 12 months time. the bloke who took me under his wing is now 70 and still goes out ferreting. im coming up to 50 so i hope im still fit enough to get out when i am that age.
