well done. good luck with the dog and ferrets for the season. -
i have seen all sorts used. noises,dead rabbits not so handy if your ferret kills early on and you dont have one. slapping a spade on top of a warren. i have seen them work. waiting for hours on end.i have known people who dont use them and have not lost a ferret, and also people who have lost ferrets. its up to the individual what they do. for me i use a locator. i would hate for a ferret to be trapped underground and i cant get to it.

how would you know where the ferret has killed in.? i would love a dog that marks underground kills not saying they dont exist just never seen one that does it regular to date. using a kitten collar with a bell what happens when working underground when it becomes clogged with dirt etc. does anyone still use a liner ferret today.if so it would be a education if someone could put up a article how to use one properly based on practical experience. that would be intresting.

just a couple of my opinions-mk1 i personally liked it.faults the depth stickers need replacing after time due to use. i had problems with the wheel on the side for depth range. after time it would wear loose needed to be tightened. had one snap on me once.cost of one is expensive if it breaks its then finding someone who can repair them and calibrate them. you get interferance when working near overhead powerlines etc.heard nothing but negative reports about the mk2. i have the mk3 original version. not had a problem with it.seen quite a few reports on here about the mk3km and some people hav

theres been very good,average,poor dogs out of the kennels.you pay your money and make your choice.its up to the individual what he/she spends their money on.

i would personally keep putting the jill in and trying him right behind her on a marked warren. see if it starts him off working. its worked for me before with reluctant ferrets. but i will be the first to admit 1 jill i had would not work after trying everything i could. hope yours comes good.

she is only young no experience give her time. next time put the adult in and put the youngster in behind her. she should follow her in. it will come in time.

for rabbits ferreting/lamping/mooching daytime seen good 1st cross collie/greys, beddy greys, beardy greys,whippet greys.seen pre ban beddy greys take odd hares plus whippet/greys and beardy /greys take hares.saw a fantastic 1st cross deerhound /grey from nuttalls kennels in the late 80s take hares regular on big fields the few times i saw her run,but not seen this type for many many years.

I loathe 'Wiganese' too. It's like a chavvy version of a southern drawl. too true the worst accent in the world. who goes into a chippy and asks for chips and babys yed only a thick as f**k wiganer.thick as piss stones to a person. its babbys yed and there have been some very clever individuals to hail from wigan.....no your right mate they are as numb as piss stones im thinking of writing to bruce parry to see if he fancys filming an episode of tribe there,he can visit platt bridge,theres folk there not yet touched by civilisation the place is just wall to wall scum. ince c
