  1. The couple of permissions i have wont entertain lurchers on the land. so i use a beddy its all in woodland strips. the dog has been brought up with ferrets from a pup no problems. he gets to a net much quicker than me and just holds the rabbit no damage to the rabbit or net and he marks very well. if i had good ground and permission it would be a lurcher every day of the week. but beggars cant be choosers sometimes unfortunatly.

  11. i know wat u mean mate some days he seems mature then other days he just blanks me and the pup is bk lol that's why a thought a couple a kills would maybe make him want to hunt as been said work on his obedience etc socialising any points he is lacking on obedience wise polish these up. he will hunt in his own time trust me. a ideal time to start him will be spring when there are hopefully young rabbits about that are as green as grass. early confidence catches for him then progress from there. work on your bond with the dog and put plenty of time in.you will be repayed in the long run. dont

  19. A few people find themselfs in this position i can only use a terrier on my ferreting permissions. ive seen good russells, borders and lakie types mark very well. i use a bedlington very good marking dog, great temperament, lives in.On the stubborn side to train as a young dog but he is obedient and works close.i dont think you could go wrong with any of the types mentioned as long as you put the work in early obedience, socialising, breaking to ferrets stock etc. good luck with your choice.
