  1. Used to talk to some old boys back in the early 80s who are now long gone and they said some useful types had been irish terrier crosses way before my time. never seen one work i must admit.

  9. This 1 brought up from a pup. roamed the streets like a lot of dogs in the 70s. my mates dads dog used to take him on a mooch everyday. there was often a hare or rabbits hung up in the shed.

    served my apprenticeship with a kirkby firm started summer 1980.at xmas a fella i was working with gave me a similar book and said read that over the holidays and when you come back i wont to hear you speak proper you little woolyback twat.
  11. my mate has lived in cumbria for many years and been to some trails. the hounds thereselves have to be registered. in the past there was pointer and collie blood added to foxhounds to add to these hounds . how much is done today i dont know.They are raced from april to oct at various meets throught cumbria. my mate says its well organised. how popular it is now i could not say all my information is off him second hand.i know what you mean about bloat. the bowl of food is the reward for finishing the race.
  12. i feel dizzy after working on it. you can store some veg and blanch then freeze and bag up quite a lot of stuff. so i always have a freezer full ,and onions,garlic shallots hung up and second early and main crop potatoes stored. plenty to last all year if you stagger the growing times of crops.

Since these photos have been took i have built quite a few raised beds easy to maintain etc. i have had good success with beetroot,carrots,french beans (dwarf) garlic lettuce onions parsnip,radish,spring onion, potatoes. use good quality seeds, weed regular, and keep on top of pests as to watering and feeding the plants you will find plenty on the net depending on the crop type etc. good luck. :thumbs:also grown herbs in containers sage. rosemary,mint,thyme,basil. grown strawberries in containers. have some blueberry plants in pots but the blueberrys need to be planted in ericaceous compost.
  14. Same for me cj busy this morning. went to a old disused railway line this afternoon should have took a ferret dog marked up a few times.
