  3. ive got 15 purse nets but im still coming across burrows with more holes, it would be greatly appreciated to have some but atleast let me pay for post. you seem a keen lad. i have given all my spare nets away but i have 4 4ft nylon poke nets you can have.pegs either end. good for big holes or at the bases of trees etc. pm your details and i will send them on. we're all keen lads darbo hahaha you dont need nets on your land your lab could catch them there that easy
  4. Remember reading a few articles about tanner in the old working terrier and running dog mags before earth dog running dog mags came out. a pic from one of the articles. was this a dog you knew? My word, it's my Cisco dog....named after an old Belfast lurcherman! That dog was the same way bred as Tanner but from a different greyhound bitch, 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bearded collie. Templeking had his brother, Reno but he had a bad leg break and neither dog made as good as Tanner. always liked the 3/4 grey 1/4 collie type they were popular in my area in the 80s .atb.

thank you.my wife has had 2 big ops in the last couple of years and the results of the last test was not good news so another one is required. hopefully this one will work. i hope everything goes well for your wife and the future is bright.
  8. i had lurchers since 1984 the last 1 died nearly 3 years ago and has not been replaced as yet. unfortunatly i can only use a terrier on my ferreting permission and its all in woodland and scrub shit land really. but he does the job well marks well. gets to the nets and holds the rabbit without damage. the land i work the dog on would not really be suited to bolting without nets. so he does the job well i require from him. a terrier can have uses ferreting on the right sort of land.i know the route you are going down with your bitch and i wish you success.

    thanks pal much appreciated.
  10. Whats the height of your dog , pal i measured him the other day. he is 17 inches to shoulder.
  11. Mine works close and stops when told. lots of different breeds of terrier can be headstrong.put in the work early doors.mine is used mainly as a ferreting dog and a dog 3 fields away would be of no use to me.

Darbo,I take it that is aimed at me mate,if so this pic will tell you,he's really come on the last few months and will be 12 month old on the 25th of this month,my lads made up with him and this was taken after lamping for a few hours,he's an honest sort of dog that gives everything, WM thanks wm. i have always liked the beddy/grey/ my old mate had beddy crosses 30 years real honest types. good luck to your lad with him.
  23. How is the beddy grey pup coming on if you dont mind me asking?
  24. watched a lot of old time fights. one sticks to mind beau jack vs ike williams. end of round 8 williams unloads repeated punches to beau jacks head. the ref eventually stops it but the man refused to go down. unbelivably tough men in that era. 1950s era.
