  5. i watched a couple of andy baron bred 3 quarter breds on occasion through the 90s on daytime hares on big arable fields they knocked a fair few over. Good enough for what the owners wanted out of them.
  6. Just got mine much appreciated.
  7. Absolute bollocks of a decision that and im from Merseyside no way on earth was that fight won by that margin by Smith. Ryder fought a great fight and closed the distance very well and give Smith all sorts of problems Ryder is one strong individual. A close fight at best and if Ryder would have shaded it i would not of disagreed.
  8. A beauty of a pup. Just the tonic keith needs.
  9. Very sad news i like the look of the cocker/beagles and they sound like very handy types atb.
  10. ive kept chickens for over 30 years but on a allotment. I dont know of any law which states you cant keep chickens in a garden i know many that do. i think problems arise if you have a cockerel or more and they crow there heads off all day. Thats when neighbour problems and complaints could arise.
  11. i have seen quite a few excell at marking/ferreting/bushing from unknown breeding. Yours sounded like a belter Arry. This old mongrel was a fantastic marker and could work cover all day long.
  12. Looks a good outing. i like the little border pup did it give some solid marks?
  13. Best of luck with the pup Keith and a very kind gesture from Blackdog a real gent.
  14. Count me in for a chip in for a suitable pup.
  15. Nice one good work all the best for the future with the pup.
  16. i have had a saluki/grey x collie grey and a line bred collie grey to a 3/4 saluki 1/grey x whippet grey my best bitch. If you say the line bred has more about them then i take on board what you are saying.atb
  17. From my experience i read all the negatives in the early 80s about 1st cross saluki /greyhounds. i watched one in the early 80s for years a mates dog ferreted /lamped/ and ran local daytime hares with good sucess. Opened my eyes for sure as i watched a fair few 1st crosses they had a nose stamina hunting brain and low and behold they were even trained to a decent standard. If you can get on their wavelength and gel with them a very good type in my opinion. I dont have much experience with the modern line bred or coursing dogs these days.
  18. i will have a guess then bill a whippet/grey pup lol.
