  1. Mario looks have turned into a fine animal. Good to see you kept on keeping on
  2. dont bother buying ready made flap doors. Just buy the clear plastic they use on a roll and make your own. Then if dog chews it, its cheep and easy to fix
  3. Dam Mongrelised farm collie/grew x saluki x grew type lurcher Sire, mongrelised farm collie.
  4. For a moochers dog collies make a lot of sense. But when the ground opens a bit, a dash of running dog goes a long way
  5. I've work Haix Tibet for the last 4 years and the amount of abuse they have taken and survived is remarkable. My wife has had 2 pair for 3 years also. After all that time on a hill farm, non of them leak and clean up like new. I can't say the same of my Meindl Douvre.
  6. me neither, there were a few similar posts by said person. I wouldn't loose any sleep over it. All forum get the occasional new member anomalies.
  7. You are in a time warp. Just a new member on LL cutting and pasting threads from here. I'm guessing its Marshman off here
  8. The issue with high protein foods such as gain is that most of the protein comes from non meat sources. The fact that much of is from cereals makes matters worse. Hence the behavioural issues if over fed and horse sized piles of sloppy shite.
  9. give it another hour or so, and you wont need one. Panic over
  10. I've got to agree with you on that point John. This debate seems to fall into two camps. Those who want to add a turbo charger to a collie, and those who want to put engine management on a greyhound.
  11. by many accounts that litter that Sesku's Gwen came from turned out some belters.
  12. for me its not the type of dog, but whats going on in its head and how its wired. Some of the best "herding" dog crosses I've seen of late have been from mongrelised farm curs.
  13. It just needs rebalancing. An ounce of lead behind its left ear usually stops the fecking off.
  14. Beet pulp is amongst the worst ingredients when it comes to absorbing water. Anyone who has soaked dried sugar beet for horse feed will know how much it expands when wet.
  15. No need to soak good quality modern complete dog food
  16. Nothing wrong with taste of the wild. But beware the added salt, keep plenty of water available. I used to use it as a mixer with minced game carcases
  17. especially if you put a live one in!
  18. the only thing in it that you need to concern yourself about is its grub. Feed it well, let it live in your shadow. Get in out in the field and enjoy yourselves.
  19. They will run into thing. One of mine ran into my little cur, one too many times
  20. My nephew's always been keen, from the moment he could walk. Fishing, ferrets shooting the lot. I got him a little patterdale/whippet for his 8th birthday and they are inseparable. He's grounded at the minute as he was caught spinning for trout in the local angling syndicate. His mam bollocked him for doing it, and I bollocked him for getting caught. They confiscated my telescopic rod off him
  21. same here ken, that bitch in the pics is really nice, if you seen her in flesh . she is about 10 st , but not slow , and can move quite quick off the mark , when she goes up to the gate. s he dont bark alot , dont think the breed do really, but when in guard mode they prob just grab you, and you be fecked there a vid on youtube with one of these grabbing a bloke pinching from a house , the bloke died the day after from is injuries . this was in S/A . if you had say a jack with one of these somthing bit vocal , these deff back it up . if wanted big type guard dog had the grou
  22. It all depends what type of work you want to do with the outcomes. With that many breeds in your companion dog I'd be tempted to cross it with a pure grey or longdog type to minimise the variation in the litter
