  1. Many are as they are KC bred,good-uns are as good,if not better, than most at bushing and ratching about. The right type of bushing Beddy is faster, more agile,as more stamina than the average terrier.Ive owned, grafted and been amongst many a good bushing terrier type mutt, there is not a lot of difference betwixt them all, until you witness a useful Beddy, they have that little bit extra, that little bit extra aids the days hunting,my lads Beddy busher accounted for 2 fox in cover last year,3 this season,2 of which he chased and caught,at 14" and 14lb he does ok for a "shit" Beddy.
  2. Ive worked Beddys to ground for a decade or 3 now, hmmmmmmmm,as they have never, ever been docked and have never suffered because of it,should Beddys be now docked?,to meet the demands of the???.
  3. If there is any honesty left in the site then YES,hopefully, until the dishonest twats with pseudo Beddys take over, mmmmmm,to late perchance for honest endeavour and honest Terriers called Bedlingtons?.
  4. An honest Beddy hybrid is worth its salt,an honest Deerhoundy is worth its weight in 22 carat,id not source a Deerhoundy from a puppy farmer,id not source a Beddy lurcher from a nugget mine.
  5. You have a tree fetish, mines Nora Batty stockings and Bedlingtons, its possibly far easier to masteroffticate to a pine or woolly sock on a granny to a Working Beddy,Beddys that work are less common than Pines and socks that arouse sexual curiosity, allegedly?.
  6. I understood that better than the earlier post mucker,i never fancy digging now, especially amidst fecking roots, god save the baying bolting Beddy hybrids and the young un with the shovel that tags along.
  7. "not much got away from him" was want to lose my attention from your post,if honesty ever played any part in lurcher ownership, poetic licence frayed the edges, unless it was Spud owned by Gary bullshitter.
  8. Thats a lovverrly looking treee.
  9. Pleased for you mucker, but, any young tyro lampers reading this,if you wish to train a dog on the lamp-refuse anything thats 3 yds away in the early stages, progress from kick-ups to 5 yds for the early intro,id save 60 yds for a seasoned campaigner.
  10. From what i could understand it sounded like a usefull day at the coalface, happy hunting.
  11. If i wished to breed a litter the only considerations i would consider,A. Do i need a pup,B. would the pup be worth breeding.Wishing to sound out a "Market" would be way down on my list for breeding, good luck though, you are in a long queue of lurcher production with dollar before matter.
  12. Paulus, your talking to the wall, as long as their ego's are bigger than their intelligence there will be no change. TC Thats why most of em take their socks off when counting over 10,we keep banging our heads against a brick wall of ego,s and stupidity that do their utmost to drag us to their fecking levels of what they perceive to be hunting, the majority of us have little in common with these sorts, alas its the actions of the minority that Tar the rest of us,fecking wastrels.
  13. Hot a young dog just now 3/8th beddy 26tts 14 months Must have thrown to the Beddy .
  14. Lads dont seem to mind 3/4 whippet though morton, no one says its too diluted then, there's been times when iam out i would have liked my 3/4 whippet to be around 26tts, but her being 22" as proberbly kept me out of jail . Beddy/GreyxBeddy/Grey,a little Collie combo and litters about 23",perfect ferreting, lamping and mooching companion.
  15. To much Grey diluting the mixture for me.Ive seen many a Beddy/Whippet combo, the Beddy/Grey combo offers that little bit more in the field.
  16. I always thought that j Holden was a good honest bloke so if Morton knows different he should speak up he's had bedlingtons for over 30 years so he must know or come across many granitor bedlingtons in his time atb Granitor Bedlingtons went from light coloured and an habit of throwing oversized progeny to far darker and typier within a couple of generations, many believed this was influenced by an infusion of Black Fell in the mix,as the pedigrees never mentioned such?.Ive come across many a Granitor bred beddy, all Bedlingtons will have Granitor in the mix, from the viewpoint of somebody that
  17. Any terrier can ratch about on top and bush about to a decent standard,if its scared to enter and greet below its not worth breeding from.A terrier that is committed to work below will be more committed on top, fact, source a terrier bred from committed lineage and graft it as you like, above or below,90% of the graft my terriers encounter is above, the other 10% is what counts when breeding is undertaken, again graft them as you wish, owners perogative,a terrier that is useless below is useless to breed from, especially when it comes to Bedlingtons, the breed is awash with frauds, chancers and ego,s,a
  18. that's the trouble lads they bang on about there so called working bedlingtons they're all hybrids whatever percentage of fell/ border or Lakeland blood in them and whatever they look like All terriers are hybrid, fact,if they breed to type over many generations and graft then they are working terriers of a certain type. There is not a Lakey or Black terrier in the country that does not have Bedlington granitorheritage.Hybrid terriers soon become,Borders,Lakey,s etc. etc.,as soon as Beddy hybrids are mentioned as a working type people seek issue with that fact.If it breeds to type, works as a
  19. You may need to state if the bitch is worth breeding from,if it does not work below ground to a working terrier standard then it is not,i hope it does though.
  20. Honest looking mutts, numbers are for egos and youthfull exuberance, useful mutts are for the honest pleasure a day in the field still allows some of us.
  21. I once went to line my bitch,South Yorkshire,we travelled a short distance to his permission and parked up,the dogs were let loose and his mutt could,nt traverse a 5 bar gate,i walked 4 miles back to my motor as i could,nt take a ride back off that sort of nugget.A day in the field tells no lies,2 minutes in honest company serves the same purpose.Id have a day out,not on my permission mind,to many bloody Australians.
  22. Rubbish, the political climate we live in as a major influence of who and what some wish at their door.IF the right dog is wanted then the right dog will be found,i remember a miserable olde scrote with some of the best working Lakeys about, would not entertain giving anybody outside of his clique a line, his best dog lined a bitch of mine and he never knew.Im not attempting to say that this is anything like the norm, yet if the right stud cannot be sourced, then don,t breed and source the right pup.The right pups of this breeding are like hens teeth, the wrong uns, which are more numerous, are an emb
  23. Only Stevie Wonder,he owns the best looking mutts ever bred, could fail to locate what the dogs dropped,go back to basic retrieval training then pop along to Specsavers,or hunt in smaller fields.
  24. The only dog i will put over any terrier i own and not to closely related to him, most are, is my Beddy dog,he was a proven worker and anything he as thrown have been proven workers, bushing and FOX working terriers above and below, ive let one go as he was becoming a digging terrier, the others are as honest as baying, bolting bushers should be.They will not suit some, yet as the olde proverb states "horses for courses".His son,a Beddy/Fell combo will be the dog that goes over his Beddy siblings, another proven grafter,he should throw the same,or ill source a better option.
