Very true mucker, im possibly the biggest Whippet fan that would not own one,at this time,at another time with a less restrictive hunting lifestyle id own one again,YET,i was once burdened by what they offered and refuse to hunt with those restrictions now,later i may do so again,until then id love to not own another,with remorse.

Very true,the recent dog thefts local and the blinged up landrover that is registered at a site in Leeds and owned by some pseudo tree surgeons,that thieve dogs,is not representative of the minority of the travelling fraternity,yet its representative of the majority of them,if truth ever comes into the equation.

I like Whippets,i like their speed,their desire,their intent and their focus,what i fail to like about them is their REAL lack of use in the field,the facts are that the vast majority of lurcher bred mutts are a better option,in the field,than a Whippet,i still like em,id just put my eggs in a lurcher bred basket,especially if i had a taste for Bambi.

Total pish,if you cannot jack a Saluki hybrid you will never find enough graft for a proper bred Collie/cur.Ive owned and worked both types for "3" decades now,geez i bent and bruised them at times,the Saluki hybrids skulked and sulked when they got taxed,the Collie/curs took it in their stride,fed,rested,then went around again.You must have owned Hancock or Otley bred herding bred.Its naive to even talk about jacking a dog,nuggets jack dogs,others work them within their limitations,for year after year after year,even a decade or 2,not the same dog mind,ill leave that to the bull owners that a

Ive seen a couple,as spaniels own a very useful nose its not to difficult to accustom them away from feather.Most hunting dogs,of any type or persuasion can be educated to hunt any quarry,at any time.If nothing else was at hand id utilise the Spaniel qualities with any busher,even on Reynard,yet there are far,far better terrier related options that do a better job and serve better purpose,especially if the work on top needs to go below.

Its a stupid question,any decent bred terrier wants to get stuck in,all the time,any decent bred Beagle is more wired than the average terrier,thus a 3/4 terrier-Beagle should be committed.At times if you need to ask you don,t really want to know.Or if you need to ask,dont.

The only time a litter needs breeding is to replace or augment the existing team.When brass is part and parcel of any breeding,the breeding becomes second to the price.The vast majority of folk that breed for the right cause would be offended to have brass mentioned,the best of lurchers and terriers are never sold,well?.

If Hares are on the menu id not own a dog without it being heavily Saluki orientated,there is nothing else ever bred that can compete with them.If i wanted an honest grafting type lurcher,that had a more varied menu,id Never want Saluki in the mix,its more trouble than its worth and the Collie adds far,far,far more to honest lurchers than the Saluki ever will.

I only hunt edible game as well,except ratting with the terriers.I think a whippet whippet x or grew would suit my needs to be honest . Im glad you did not sink into the Welsh type of second rate jukel,English first,before the Irish stole and bred from English stolen stock,then Scottish ancestory,the only mutts that struggle on Blue hares,then we get to the Deerhoundys?.
