  1. The vast majority of Bedlingtons used in lurcher production are inferior grafters, fact, hybrid vigour seems to circumnavigate this problem much of the time.Im the Beddy,s biggest fan,id never own a lurcher with terrier in the mix though, far better options available. What i find, most of the time, its the education the pup receives that makes the biggest impression on its ability in the field, breeding certainly aids the development, yet many a decent bred dog fails in many a kennel, its easier to blame the breeder of a pup than its tutor.Id not go with a 3/4 bred beddy, its diluting the hybrid vigour
  2. that's the trouble lads they bang on about there so called working bedlingtons they're all hybrids whatever percentage of fell/ border or Lakeland blood in them and whatever they look like All terriers are hybrid, fact,if they breed to type over many generations and graft then they are working terriers of a certain type. There is not a Lakey or Black terrier in the country that does not have Bedlington heritage.Hybrid terriers soon become,Borders,Lakey,s etc. etc.,as soon as Beddy hybrids are mentioned as a working type people seek issue with that fact.If it breeds to type, works as a terrier

  4. A proven sire over a proven bitch is not forced to throw proven progeny,in theory it should but in practice it sometimes fails, only sometimes. If the first litter proved their worth then resultant litters from the same breeding will have an high chance of doing the same, the age of the dam and sire will play its part.

  6. What in a field?,i know its rained a lot lately.
  7. The police are obliged to flex their muscle and intent,in relation to being seen to uphold the laws of the land, even the hunting ones. They are often under pressure from the Animal right nuggets to be seen to be doing "Police work",thankfully the budgets they work asunder often restricts their activities,in these areas, for a few weeks of the year, the rest of the time they pay "US" no heed.Let them have their moment whilst we hunt legitimately, when their brass runs out and their actions are less restrictive we may wish to hunt accordingly and legally .
  8. Thats possibly because the best of poachers had little English heritage ,they just strayed,as poachers where want to do.
  9. Its often nothing to do with the mutts ability in the field, the season starts the seasons end when things breed and are are not yet ready to gain fair grace or favour,if we waited for "all" the right times to run our mutts with honesty and compassion, they would spend 9 months of the year awaiting our conscience,s.A dog using its nose will hunt whats about,in season,as the mutt suffers less from its conscience we as owners may need to steer it at times, the nuggets that don,t ,ive little time for, again an hunting dog,in or out of season,as no conscience.
  10. We breed or source them, cater to their needs and education and then,at times, reap the reward of our endeavours. They are dogs, nothing more, ive yet to get misty eyed and romantic about a dog,yet have shed a tear for 1,nothing to do with romantic ideology, that mongrel was more important than anything else in my life,at the time,it was more than a companion in the field,i preferred her company to my best mate or wife, yet the reality of it being "just a dog" befuzzled my mind that no best mate or wife ever could, thus the romantic nonsense we get drawn into at times, because of our Canine companions,
  11. Pups should be eating by 3 weeks of age, weaned by 7 weeks.Id be comfortable to let a pup go at 6 weeks,if its going into an home that can commit to its needs, more social than welfare, its an easy task to cater to a pups diet, they are greedy beggars, its their socialisation at an early age that is far more important.

If the yanks go it will be championship footie for the reds ,they have bailed them out for the last 5 years, fact, beware what you hope for?.

Seriously letting G go was possibly his best decision,if Stevie G had been in the team today Everton would have won by 3.Rogers was found out when Suarez stopped carrying him,all his recruitments since have been based on his Welsh incursions into Football, thus he as been found wanting.come on Morton he was a thorn in evertons side in any Darby match Liverpool had when he played Liverpool destroyer Everton and he gave up his England shirt because he knew they were shit LOL Ouch,as an Everton fan i hope he stays, its the easiest we have had it since the middle ,s,as an Everton fan i wish Gerra

  16. Ive known many an owner more resilient than their charges, thats why id never own another black-un .
  17. Poetic licence, same as the bonny wee terrier in a Scottish cemetery and "lassie come Home".The average mutt that gets lost,or lost an owner, will soon settle at the first door its fed at.
  18. Lads that hide behind their ego,s,then earn a crust from it?.Shit dogs in one kennel may be less Shit in another, without the ego.
  19. Ego,s that own dogs,be that terriers or lurchers.I like to see an hunting dog graft and show its potential,be that mine or a total strangers,id rather it was mine yet have seen better dogs graft that were not,at times.A good un can be enjoyed by more than its owner, the ego,s and chancers in the game can never understand that concept, its me,me me and fecking dollar that is the mainstay of many a kennel now. You just described yourself pal Not intentionally, honesty seldom gains favour,id rather be honest and maligned than work a mutt to gain anothers favour.
  20. Ive never owned a Beddy that did not listen, ive seen a few that required a better education,as is often the case, that may not have been the dogs fault.Ive re-homed 1 Beddy in 30 years that was reluctant to obey order, its now a pet,a better trainer would have made it a worker, fact.

  22. Pull it straight, exercise it accordingly, slow, slow then slow.I usually try to put little strain on it for about 6 weeks.
  23. Total pish,if you cannot jack a Saluki hybrid you will never find enough graft for a proper bred Collie/cur.Ive owned and worked both types for "3" decades now, geez i bent and bruised them at times, the Saluki hybrids skulked and sulked when they got taxed, the Collie/curs took it in their stride, fed, rested, then went around again. You must have owned Hancock or Otley bred herding bred. Its naive to even talk about jacking a dog, nuggets jack dogs, others work them within their limitations, for year after year after year, even a decade or 2,not the same dog mind, ill leave that to the bull owners that a
