  1. i have a vast amount of water to shoot over that consits of ponds , rivers , lakes , fen drains , reservorirs , also stubble fields potao fields if the ducks or geese use them , i am fortunate to live in a great area for wildfowl , i dont shoot all this on my own , i have friends who i ask plus land owners come along .. then in return my friends invite me to shoot on there permission , i also costal wildfowl the foreshore and marshes , i travel the country costal wildfowling, i am in a few costal wildfowling clubs around the country .... i also go to sweeden at least once a season
  2. Liam if you get one of them there wont be a billy left in the country, lol, but i would take up carragh's offer.
  3. If it were me i would go for a harder type that you have reputable knowlodge of,ie,stays till dug, good finder in big places and wont get pushed about and that the dog is out of genuine good diging stuff. There is nothing wrong with a good sounder but i personally think you would be giving the pups that little bit of edge by putting something hard across the bitch.Best of luck whatever way you choose, after all luck has a lot to do with it.
  4. Good luck with the pup Danny, with the combination of stuff thats in him i should say he will see a lot of sick bay, lol.
  5. Most reds i ever had was 4 and that was from a shore about 200yds long, all bolted and got away, but well done, and well done to the bitch.
  6. You should have just got on with it and said nothing, what people dont know wont hurt them, and if your cage cannot be seen by the neighbours how is anybody in athourity goin to see or know its there.
  7. lol! same as you mate, i dont want a dog that is frightened to come back for the fear of being belted,ur right it doesnt pay in the long run! cheers for the advice mate! Where i exercise my dogs is a big open bog for miles without any holes or pipes. I can let the terriers and lurcher run free without having to worry about any dog goin to ground. The only game there is about is hares and when 1 gets up in front of the dogs then they are all in on the hunt.I sit and wait and 1 by 1 they come back, apart from a pat bitch, she will eventually return but sometimes it could take half an hour, with he
  8. If i had someone up for a days diging,i dont think i would take them to an earth that we would be stuck at all day, what would be the point if say they had maybe 3 terriers with them and you wanted to see them work, nothing wrong with 5..6footers when there is guests.Every man knows the deep or awkward ones in his area, and if we are all truthfull we tend to stay clear of them, there's testing a dog and there's been stupid, why put a dog at risk for the sake of a big ego, there is plenty of 8..9ft holes about us that we dig,but we know them and have dug them a few times and the diging is not bad,but
  9. Nice pups alli, atb with them.
  10. Good luck with the pup lurcher 330,hope it works out for you
  11. Well done lads good result, and fair play leting him run.
  12. Them lads you met dev are local lads, they do a lot of diging in that area.
  13. I have a AC bitch here and she self entered at 9months and done over 2hours on her game before we eventually got to her.She is very hard at her work, pure mute but can handle herself.I seen only last sunday 4 of ac dogs working and they were also mute and hard, very good terriers in my opinion, not everyone's cup of tea maybe, some like a sounder or mixer, but i like them.
  14. Good strong looking pups buddy for 3 weeks old, hope they do the buisness for you.
  15. the boy in the suit..... best to stay well clear buddy lol Id say its your terriers stop end, when then find out whats in there the shit themselves, lol. lol..... your dead [bANNED TEXT] fatman..... oh and thanks for the comment cueball Hahaha, did you like that stop end,at least you have a sence of humor, atb.
  16. Yes seen the outside fox earths yes but badgers are known for going into pheasant pens and killing a bird or 2 You are so right danny, mate of mine has a small shoot and a few year back he had 200 cock pheasants ready for release when a badger dug in and destroyed the most of them, any he did'nt kill done themselves flying against the wire.He knew it was badger as he was still in the pen when my mate went to feed early next morn.
  17. Mighty celt,i have shot over cockers a lot in the last few year and although they are good cover dogs i have yet to hear one open up on a fox or rabbit.I have and have had springers that will yap on a fox but will only follow until it breaks cover,i suppose if reared from a pup and let run wild in cover they might trail on a bit, personally if it were me i would be looking to get a halfx beaglexspringer, usually give plenty of tounge and will travel on a fox or anything that breaks cover.hope this helps.
  18. Hope it all works out right for you and your family liam,i remember a time when you could have your dogs run loose in the back yard and no one would touch them, best of luck buddy.
  19. Time will tell dee, hope they make it for you.atb.
  20. the boy in the suit..... best to stay well clear buddy lol Id say its your terriers stop end, when then find out whats in there the shit themselves, lol.
  21. Firstly, neither of them 2 dogs worked, after plenty of chances.Secondly, why is 3 digs a week a big deal,we often had 3 a morn, your mutts probably would not be able for it but ours are.
  22. I think you could be done for disturbing deer if you were using a lamp,i know i was done for disturbing fish, lol.
  23. We all could take pics like that little black dog,and maybe worse, but have the anti's not enough fire power without giving it to them on a plate. We are using 1 dog that started tail end of last season and i young dog 15months and 1 bitch 14months that was 1st dug at 9 months old while like yourself out for a mooch about.Im like you stop end have no need or desire to tell lies, only 1 your fooling is yourself after all.If i have a dog and its only half hearted then its gone,i have no time for laggers.I dont do pics as ive already said on here before, not into it,but a lot of men know me and know
  24. Someone give stop end a blue peter badge,he dug a fox in the rain with a terrier sitting 2ft of it and a lurcher that would only stick its head into it,oh and i nearly forgot he bolted 1 the day before.Just for the record,we have 24 dug so far cover or no cover, mostly with young dogs.May i ask now why you brought me into your little bit of fame as i had not replied to your thread. You critisized scent a couple of weeks back when he put up a thread, you questioned digger on this thread when he put up a couple of pics of young dogs same as you did me when i mentioned hounds goin to ground. You back
