  1. Was chatting with a man this eve that dug to terriers most of his life and as he was looking at my dogs in kennells he asked me if i could call any of them out when they were to ground.I said no and would not be happy if i could as prey drive cannot be great if they can be called of there game when up close and personal. He then told me 1 of the best terriers he ever worked could be whistled out when ever he wanted and that he accounted for 100,s of foxs with this dog as the fox would bolt soon after the dog was out,BUT,if it was a dig he wanted then the same dog would stay until dug to.Has any
  2. Often heard it said that the sun will burn up scent,i think damp murky weather is the better scenting conditions.
  3. Good mornings work but just curious as to why did the terriers not follow the fox to ground in the drain before you had caught them up.
  4. You should have told the pricks it was not ferrets that you intended hunting with her when she was old enough to hunt.

  10. Terriers looking well liam, lovely area your in,them pups are big compared to my bitch.
  11. Wish you well with the pups but 2 at a time is not the way to do it and could result in spoilling them even before they start.

  16. It was rambo,he was only a draw dog and not a good one either, know 1 of the men in the dvd.
  17. If they want it bad enough they will get to it,only prob with a big game terrier is they could push too tight and smoother.
  18. Nice end to the season for ya danny, fair play for leting the vixon run.
  19. Does it really matter about the colour as long as they work.
  20. A lot of lads claim that there terrier killed 1 to ground, but 9 times out of 10 it pushed in that tight that it smoothered itself, but not saying its not possible ?.
  21. I think its a risk you take when you buy a pup.Just because it does not make the grade does not mean the seller had f****d you about or lied about the parents,i have seen 1st hand top class bitchs put to top dogs and pups turned out shite, they dont always click.I personally think if you buy worker to worker pups well your increasing the chances of rearing a worker and preferly of parents you have seen work if possible.I have neither bought or sold a pup in a good many years but a friend of mine gifted me a well bred bitch and she has turned out a cracking bitch,i was lucky with her as ive had
  22. Well done lurcher330,that lakeland seems to be geting plenty of work,it was a good morn to get a fox in aswell.
  23. Well done digger, bitch looks as if she could sleep for a week,i would not fancy diging with that square headed shovel your using, hard work that.
  24. The diging would be my 1st sport along with the lurchers, but i also do a fair bit of rough shooting with the springers, flight duck with the lab and do a bit with the rifle aswell for the freezer. Will start trout fishing in march on local lake, keeps me out of the house and something to do until september comes round again, its a hard auld life, lol.
