  1. Had a quick hour out tonight, little rise in water. Fished a couple of pools, neck's fast running, very rocky pot holes into a nice glide then a nice tail. Fished it down with a floating rapala, you can ease off of reeling when the rap is going onto rocks, the rap will float to the top and not get snagged on the rocks, on a clear bit crank it back down. Never touched anything with the rap. I then changed to my favourite bait on this bit , a number 2 mepp's aglia, i fish it upstream, gets down well that way and meets the fish head on, you can cast upstream into the slack pockets where hopefully
  2. I mainly fish the fly but spinning/lure fishing can be very enjoyable. Fly lads mainly frown upon it but if you are fishing light you can get a lot of enjoyment, in my eyes it is not just chuck and turn, i try to read the river and present the bait where i think the fish could be lying in different situations, good ly's will change with water height, color etc. Same as worming, done correctly a skillfull method. I am just waiting on a little rise and will have the lures out, can't wait for a go.

  4. Zo Zuri pin lures are a good bait for trout had salmon and sea trout on them also. Quill minnow work well also.
  5. I like to fish mepp upstream, fish toby up snd across, rap across and round, also float rap down stream under bushes etc. Metal devon upsteam. People have there own ideas, best is what you have success and confidence in. I like to fish baits with braid and a couple of foot of mono, i fish as light as possible for the species targeted and conditions as it presents the bait better. Last season i was fishing with a 5'6" greys ultralite with 4lb braid. I was using a 30mm rap fishing for trout, i hooked a good salmon well into the teens, fresh fish, i could not do much with it, kept working into me
  6. Yes mate i like to make a lot of my own gear. O pic some i made, some bought, I make my own fly's also and rabbiting gear.
  7. What type of water you fishing mate, river lake? Got a great little bait I make myself for trout, good on a falling water on river, give me your address and I will send you a couple, far better than a tazy devil, for me anyway.
  8. Pollock is every bit as tasty as cod in my opinion, very under rated eating.
  9. Used taz devils a few times over the years, not caught much on them, no confidence in them. can't beat a mepp or 30mm rapala for trout.
  10. They can be decent ferreting dogs, markers and catch a few on the lamp. Good little rabbit dogs that said i would prefer a smallish lurcher for the ferreting job.
  11. Pups gone unfortunatly only 1 for work others pets. Man off her got it, i will leave it up to him if he wants to say so. Good luck with it mate.
  12. Yes black bitch and black/white dog, blue white dog gone for a pet. They are cracking pups well reared.
  13. There is some idiots in this world, thought the dog world was bad but this shite beats that.
  14. I like them all but i have a strong liking for merles, think i like the merle with the white collar best to look at but if you saw them in the flesh you might go for another. Don't think anyone would be disappointed with any of them.
  15. They look a nice litter of pups as do the ones socks has.
  16. Pleased you got sorted with the right home pal.
  17. I will put them on preloved, they will go for pets no bother, a shame as he wanted them to go for work. Beggars can't be choosers.
  18. You know he aint had a single call, i can't understand folk, they moan on about price of pups, he has 3 cracking well reared pups off good working stock at a very good price and Zilch. You see others for £500 or so go like hell and they be no better. I think its like showing, its who is at the other end of the lead syndrome.
