  4. Found a nice pic of my 3/4 whippet 1/4 bedlington, its jacket was just growing back as i had hand stripped it to tidy it up.
  5. A bigger one take 4 Gills easy, very light.
  6. This little bitch was only 17" like a miniature greyhound, fast little thing, was out of Chatterbox, 1/4 grey in parents, probably more back in breeding. http://www.thebwra.co.uk/cgi-bin/breeding.pl?op=breeding&index=17396&gens=5&db=bwra.dbw http://www.thebwra.c[/url]
  7. I had a one years back out of a Rhinegold bred bitch to a non ped racing dog, can't remember name, threw very bull like, like a little tank. Far to chunky for racing as it was to small for the weight. It was a shock it turned out like that. My cousin still races and one or 2 of hers have a look of bull about them and they don't have bull in for any generation we know of, be back from the 50's and 60's i would think.
  8. Here you go mate, bigland boy, got same dogs in line as my fathers, Good as gold in him. http://www.thebwra.co.uk/cgi-bin/geneal.pl?gens=5&pattern=bigland%20boy&db=bwra.dbw&op=search

  10. Country music would be grandfather to them 2 litter sisters my father had.
  11. When we were at school we used old bank bags, used to get old suit jackets out of oxfam, we didn't have money for fancy jackets. Used to slit the linning in the jacket, ferret one side nets in the other, never took a spade as i could not afford a bleeper till i was 16. When i think about it now i must have been like Billy Casper.
  12. http://www.thebwra.co.uk/cgi-bin/breeding.pl?op=breeding&index=6188&gens=5&db=bwra.dbw This one of my late fathers was decent, used to come in season every 6 months which kind of buggered it up. Was lined with a few decent dogs, best 2 it probably bred were owned by my father. These are them, litter sisters, breeding for them below, http://www.thebwra.co.uk/cgi-bin/geneal.pl?gens=5&pattern=mad%20rush&db=bwra.dbw&op=search Fawn one Mad Rush, other one Desert Storm He had a few other decent one's but these 3 probably the best. The last litter had
  13. Here you go mate, plenty off info here. http://www.thebwra.co.uk/database.htm
  14. I use the middles out out of a electric cable drum for bow, it has the shape in it, much easier than working it round. glued and tacked, leave to dry then trim up and sand, fitting thin stainless scratch plates, drill from outside, obviously fixed inside,
  15. Small and light, about 10" x 6" made from 6mm 5ply body, the bow is 3mm. Had these boxes years and no worse. Have little scratch plates in side behind the holes.
  16. Little box, as said could easily stand on ferret, drop it etc also it definitely gets enough air when warmer. We used old bank bags when we were kids, pleased to say don't do that no more. I have different size boxes i make for myself depending on how many ferrets you taking along, have really small light bow back ones, will take 2 gills or a hob and you hardly know you are carrying it.
  17. Nice bitch that tomo, just the job for ferreting. Has she had many injuries with so much grey whippet in. Probably the very type i go for next, like my beddy x for ferreting but just a little to hard mouthed for my liking
  18. I would get kits off someone with a good line of workers as you would do with a dog. Colour makes no difference to a good line of ferrets regarding working ability but some may have a preference for white or lighter coloured ferrets as i have, just makes them easier see and keep track of in rough ground. Size wise they all have their uses, smaller types probably bolt more (not always true) and the bigger ones good for moving hard worked rabbits that don't want to move, or holding them to dig as a little one may get dragged thus a number of digs, the smaller ones will move stubborn rabbits, bu
