I didn't think there was that much hype around England this year tbh... And never were they touted to win it... I expected them to get out of the group, but there's been a lot of surprises this World Cup .. Look at Costa Rica, a missed penalty away from the semis, who would've called that? Spain out at the group stages? But the teams left in aren't a shock are they... Brazil, Agentina, holland and Germany... It sorts the wheat from the chaff in the end and these are some top sides.. Been a great World Cup IMO.. I've enjoyed all the games I've watched..

My girls 16 this year, but I hope the values and morals with instilled in her will prevent her ever getting involved in shit like this.. But you can only do your best and as I keep telling her she's nearly an adult now, her decisions are her own me and her mum won't be there for ever... I'd hang my head in shame though if that was my girl...

I think you can get a rod license on line too mate .. Hooks, floats, weights, line etc I'll have loads which can be used.. I'll bring spare bank sticks, rod rests etc I've 2 carp rods and reels, possibly a spare pole, a whip, feeder rod, float rod, Seat box, landing nets and keepnet... ( I'm a hoarder lol)... First come first served but anyone welcome to borrow what I've got.. Between us everyone will get fishing, Few of us are fishing the Wye the day before, if any lads want to join us they'd be welcome.. It's funny how waters change mate, Our local canal is not your traditional cut type.. 7 miles long, most parts 30- 50 yards wide and 12ft deep.. The widest part, the Lyme kilns, us around 70 yards wide.. Now this was a proper match venue back in the day, opens would attract plus 100 anglers, and 90% of the time it was won on the groundbait feeder for the skimmers and bream.. There was always the odd carp on it, but only 1 or 2 boys ever fished for them ( 1 a very good friend of mine who died a few years back, one if the most knowledgeable anglers I've ever met, I worked in the tackle shop

Neither can I. Every swim iv'e looked at looks bob on for a stick float and Maggot approch. Trouble is, iv'e set my stall out for a Barbel. I'll give it a go on the float soon. Might as well.............. The Wye. Can't wait. Is the plan to fish the Wye on the Saturday still? I'll be up on the Friday to fish the Saturday.. what time friday? I'll bring spare gear, plus hooks, floats etc for those who need it. I'm gonna fish on the Saturday, but I'll sort out gear later on. I've got at least 1 spare keepnet maybe 2. Dave, keep it simple, waggler (float) set to depth size 16 hook and a couple of maggots and you should catch a few. You can pick up cheap whips with elastic through the top section real easy to fish and they'll handle pastie carp no worries. ( think I paid 30 quid for one for fin a couple of years back)..
