  9. when it's time I'd like to have the choice. no point in living 10 years in a chair with my hands turned in and my head nodding like its on a spring getting spoon fed by some fat bird who don't care less if I finished the spoon full before I should have the right to clock out on life when there is no quality of life
  10. it's OK. I sometimes use it to zero as it's indoor and wind free. spinners soon get old but there are some good lads go in.
  11. I might know we're there is a 177 in Huddersfield if thats any good. its a nice gun and shoots well, also has Dr bob quick fill on.
  12. Ive had a few rabbits hit this net while ferreting and no bust meshes as of yet. Cant comment on rabbits being left in on a night drop kicking with their feet and having a munch. thats why i like 4z for night work, cheap to replace. I'm tired of mending holes in nets to be honest I don't remember catching by the toes on a single strand 4z net but often find the net balled up around the leg with the rabbit kicking after its head has gone through the mesh (I'm assuming). with double knitting engles Mr wilks and I have had rabbits caught bye toes alone. as for night time netting... if you leav
  13. if your going to all the trouble of hand knitting a net with engels twine you should finish it with a salvage. it will be a fine net
  14. thats a good little video you have done I'm looking forward to my traps..
  15. I seen the beagles on the Moor today. wish I had seen more

  16. I have a little drop I do where I put the net in a horseshoe shape around a gate. the rabbit runs inside the horseshoe and goes left, right or forward and with the net like this there's always one part of the net blowing the wrong way. it almost always catches for me. I also have a slack bottom line as the ground has paths were sheep walk. never has it entered my head to peg straight but it's worth a try. trial and error but if it was a net running in a straight line I would peg as normal with the pegs leaning away from the wind. this way you have done all you can to set correctly on 1
  17. could have point there . maybe he does and maybe he's wrong. just be the better man and sign.
  18. a boss at work does some thing under ground with explosives as a hobbie. basically he tries to make a route under ground from 1 valley to another. he tells me after a few foot down the temp remains constant all year round and only the top/crust will freeze. I forget the temp

    Which Net?

I think to be a longnetter you got to master the tradional net otherwise your using a quick set and Imo that's ferreting equipment that your using at night.(nowt wrong with that) if you can get somebody close to show you the ropes trad netting go for it. if your learning from scratch then read Martin kings peg to peg a few times. 25 yds is big enough for a first net. and nelson off here can sell you all the nets you need
  20. well written bud. I'm out Friday
