If it is, that's exactly what somewhereyournot said in his reply to you. the 150 beam is a bit too tight. And unless you know every square foot of the ground you're on, or avoid certain fields altogether, some of these tight beams can make things potentially more dangerous than they already are

Excellent post, and it's what I've been saying for quite some time, most lads today are not suitable for owning lurchers of any type really, and is another reason why there are so many ruined potentially useful dogs ALWAYS in rescue homes etc. The majority of dog owners just don't suit the majority of lurcher types, of any format

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that programme really. Or the fact that the website says they will only sell to working farms or whatever. Alot of them get sold to people that do obedience work etc, like my ex did with hers.There are welsh sheepdogs about in quite a few areas these days. And alot of them aren't red and white, but there is a fair range of sizes, same as all working collie types really. Depends on the farmer's preference or the type of land they've got as to the type/size of dog they use

Went with my ex to pick her welsh sheepdog bitch up from john davies in aberystwyth, 2005 I think.. He had a cracking litter there, sired by a big, rangy black and tan dog. Superb looking dog. I don't think the gene pool is small as such, they just aint as common as border collies

good to hear pal what did u call her? since you took her today iv had 6 calls all for the white pup lol I'm surprised the red pup is the last to go, lovely pup. Be interesting to hear how this litter gets on in future. I like the breeding, and the bitch looks tidy

Ah right lol, thought you'd had them longer than that for some reason. But still, a joint effort by people that own and work pures would be an ineresting and viable undertaking. A 'warts and all' type of book, not just history and romanticism. I've never been into saluki x's or pures until recently, but they are getting my attention more and more, and I think quite a few others too.

I've never seen a whippet/greyhound with bad feet to be honest with you. I'm talking about working dogs, don't know too much about race bred types though. Alot of whip/grey bitches are around the 22 -23" mark anyway, what size is your bitch?

Yeah that's what I mean lads. Written by people that have proper experience on owning, conditioning and working pures. Got to be better than something written by someone that's just into the history etc of a certain breed. Although that would also be of interest too

Arctic, with your years of owning and working pures, along with a few others, Darcy etc, I know there are others, but he's the 1st one that came to mind as he's written a few books on coursing etc, could't you and them come up with some sort of joint effort as regards getting an in depth book about salukis sorted?

They look a fairly evenly sized litter to me, and well reared. And nice to see you're not trying to fleece people of their cash by asking astronomical figures for them, like some of these saluki bred pups go for. Good luck with them fella

cheers pal must just be the wrong time or everyones already brought pups in ,will be a shame if they have to go to pet homes as they are cracking pups I still really like that darker bitch. And if I didn't have this young bich of mine, I'd have happily taken her off your hands. Liked her from the start. And I'm another that can't work out how they've not gone already.
