  1. Try to steer clear of anyone that tells you your dogs should be 'smashing' stuff by the time they're 10 months old. Give em plenty of time to mature and grow. All my dogs have been pets first and foremost, then workers secondly. One of my best dogs was mostly whippet with a dash of greyhound
  2. Worst things ever invented, for lazy c**ts that shouldn't really own a dog. Stupidly dangerous, and should be banned!
  3. I think desertbred tried something similar with his sulkylukis
  4. Got to be honest lads, this thread has been amusingly refreshing lol
  5. I suppose you're right. Still beggars belief though
  6. ? Blasphemy! How can one not like beans?! ?. Dear oh dear, this country's going to the dogs! ?
  7. Don't know about unsporting, but would be very foolish and dangerous if 'ya pissed oot ya heed' on anything
  8. Nice dogs nl. I don't have much experience with genuine beddy x's, but the ones I have witnessed working, yes they were hard mouthed and headstrong, but NEVER yapped on anything they were slipped on ?
  9. Just re-read this one salt. 6% you say? The stuff I drank is 8.2%. Or is it like merrydown, another belter, that was 7.5%, but I see loads of that around at 6% these days?
  10. I know all these replies should be in the cookery etc section, but it doesn't half beat arguing bollox about dogs! Lol
  11. Drank black rat in a pub near me about 8 years ago, left me senseless that night and next say. Had a proper session on it with a mate when camping down brean sands 5 years ago this july. Broke both our tents, and my niece's tent. To say our mrs' were'nt impressed would be a slight understatement. Good stuff black rat ?. Henry westons takes some beating though, for taste and strength
  12. Thought so, not a real purebred!
  13. Don't know about others thoughts on this, but sardines in tomato sauce with beans on toast is faaackin superb! ?
  14. If it had beardie in it, I can well understand not getting another. Taffy, beardie/border x grey, was the sire to one of my old dogs, caught me loads of deer and hare, probably my best catch dog. But the c**t did my head in, and almost every dog I've seen with beardie in from there has been the same, from his original beardies and the ones he's got now. The border crosses have been far more responsive and amenable, and are just as tough and as good at working as the dogs with beardie in. I'd never have another dog with beardie in. Life's too short
  15. You've just gone and given socks an excuse to batter whippets and all their shortcomings! I can see it already. 'yeah more than just speed: fragilty, crap feet, too weak, shit coat, no power' etc etc etc lol
  16. You lads may scoff about these southern rabbits, but I tell ye, ye've to watch em! Mean, fast, orrible fecking things, they've an unnerving presence about em! Aaaye, ye've got to watch em. And did I mention, intelligent, but sly with it!
  17. Looks good, I like these small whippety types with a dash of collie in. Very nice
  18. Not blaming any dog for it's colour. Might well be a worldbeater, I just can't stand the colour
  19. I have to say, that was true the times I've been there. Many of the dogs were roaming around, and coming up to meet us etc. Albus in particular, seemed to like my company lol
  20. You're right in what you say. I said similar a couple of years back, in the shooting section. People moan about payng a certain price for a dog, but think nothing of spending more than a grand for an air rifle, or in many cases with shotguns, fecking thousands, yet begrudge spending a few hundred on a dog that'll last them 12 - 15 years! And the last few years, the prices of these 'cockerpugs' or whatever crossbred piece of shite, well, anywhere from £600 - £1200. f***ing madness!! £300 or thereabouts is peanuts really for a lurcher you can be sure about it's parentage
