  1. Rayovak silver oxide 394`s is what they come with and what they recommend.
  2. Being ever so romantic, I gave her a £100 and said happy xmas.
  3. Have it turned up in search mode, then when locating, once found, turn it down bit by bit to get a pin point location. By turning down the sensitivity your box has to be closer to pick up the signal, therefore getting you on the money..
  4. Just purse nets now then Bill?
  5. Got some of that twine TC made the light weight nets out of and I liked it so fancied a few double stranded stoppies. The 10 yard 6z ones I rigged are a pain being so long. Smithie mentioned weight, so I weighed a 6 yard rigged by half and lines and net weigh 315 grams, which I thought was pretty light. It looks black hanked, but purple when set, but its navy and brown twines.
  6. If its gonna come away when caught, you gonna lose it. More holes in the collar, tight fit. Job done. Never had a slip since adding more holes. The more stuff hanging off a ferret, the more chance its got of getting caught up or disturbing the nets.
  7. Nice bud. That scenery looks stunning, cold and harsh, but stunning.
  8. I lost a mk3m box and two collars the season before. Learning to fly a harris. Took off my bag in a busy tourist attraction car park to don the falconry gear, then walked off, bird in hand. Didnt realise till the day was over and I was 10 mile away back at home..
  9. Not too bad if its a straight, shallow dig. I had one come off under a massive beech tree at 4ft. They never slipped a collar since. Also worth putting a few extra holes in the leather.
  10. Funny you should say that Penny. My smallest terrier (a 11" jack) seems to pick up more cuts than the pat and shes half the size with a much thicker, crisp coat. But like you say, shows their trying. Its the head shake indoors that does me in. My car has looked like Ive cut my wrists at the wheel after the dog shook her head.
  11. NIce bud. Are they natural forks or formed out of lumps of wood?
  12. 1" board for a rat net or bit smaller?

As said. Lot of effort but a small plastic ruler is roughly a inch wide as does the job

  13. I'm pretty sure a dog cannot die from secondary poisoning from rat poison Thats what a pestie told me. The dog would have to eat its weight or half its weight in posioned mice or rats. Dont know how much truth there is in that, but obviously prevention is better than cure.
  14. Happy. Changed from IE 11 to chrome and the forum now works as it should and my laptop is faster.

  15. .44 magnum is my choice for pigeons... Apart from that, most pistols are for the range, on the 10 meter PAPER targets.. The HW45 pistol is not bad, but for the money you`d be better off with a decent 2nd hand rifle.
  16. I really hope he gets the lowest possible sentence and serves it at the Hilton. Sadly that's not gonna be the case.
  17. You know your in trouble when the instruction booklet that came with my new watch is an inch thick!!!

In what part of the world Pip? Nah this is a serious watch Walshie, thermometer, altimeter, compass barometer, sun set/rise. solar powered..and then all the usual funtions. Ill bave to ring my mate, the brain..

  18. MmK, does your box not have magnet in the bottom of it then, the mk3 doesn't but the mkm3 does I think. If you put the box near the ferret and didn't know it had a magnet in it, that could of done it? Im not trying to teach you to suck eggs bud, but most people think the pin pointer knob is a volume control..
  19. Lol. You know youse want one... It was my first.. I`d learnt to knit and made the best part of 100 nets of all shapes and sizes and fancied a go at a long net. So I used what I had, then had to buy more twine to finish it.. Its my day time, bomb proof, dog friendly, only on permission net. Ive plenty of others though.
  20. Good to hear Threelander. I got my spool today and fancied doing some double stranded stop nets so Ive ordered another spool, we`ll see how long it takes.. You like bright colours Joe, just for you.. THIS NET IS NOT SET..
  21. I picked up my compo spool earlier (albeit navy) so they have been getting to the postie. Head scratcher mate. Christmas rush? My brother inlaw is a postie, he`s here atm, he said its getting manic/parcels falling to the back of vans and getting left on. He even mentioned a delivery he was waiting on that came in parts over 4 days from the one source!! Fingers crossed mate.
