  1. Hey all. Well after having a really crap start to my season(none existent- dry permission), I went out today with new member willpalmer... I thought his plea for a partner on his 40000 acres of permission was just too good to be true, especially being 5 mins away from me.. It wasnt. I picked Will up very local, which was nice, at 7.15, and set off only to be met with a closed road half through our journey, and Im thinking, please dont be an omen. Another half hour later we got to Will`s place about 8.20am. Safe trip, not much drizzle. No sooner than I opened the boot, the heavens opened.
  2. I dont have any info, but they are definately getting closer. Problems Will?
  3. http://www.fourteenacre.co.uk/shop/professional-rabbit-snaring-by-woodga-dvd/ Well worth a watch. Had me catching in less than 48 hours.
  4. Most of the handmade hare gate nets Ive seen are square mesh.. Im sure a square meshed net is supposed to be better because of the way it sits on the top line. With a normal net, you rotate it on its side to use it, but because it was knitted horizontaly, the meshes dont hang naturally and slightly purse together. Now with a square mesh, being square, it doesnt matter what way its hung as the meshes remain square, therefore wide open to recieve your quarry`s head/leg.... Its something Ive not made yet as Bill`s photos are a bit blurry, must have had paulus up for the photography
  5. Nah. Its not deep enough to half and make two nets. Your net wants to be 13 - 15 meshes deep. Also your net hasnt quite enough running kill in it. Ideally you want to rig your nets by half, e.g - a 12ft net will take 24ft to make. It should catch though.
  6. One of them will sort you out bud, I know it was only sheet but I was doing it to help you out, I`ll keep it as Ive some pins coming. And to be honest, Ive not got the time to get to the postie at the minute.
  7. That black tipped tail is distinctive, eyes peeled round my way.
  8. Any one on here a member of the lee on solent clay shooting club?

  9. Fookin hell. R.I.P little `un. A stallion charged me and the Mrs the other week, bit scary. Thought it was a it weird, a big single horse, where usually theres 5 or 6 in this paddock, its a public right of way. Then when it charged, it dawned on me.. The Mrs was bent over sorting out her wellies at the time, one on, one off panicking like fook. I had to make myself look big and make some noise, waving my arms. The Mrs takes the piss out of me now, but I can tell you she was far from the piss taking when I had to stand in between her and a horse steaming at us. Fooking noise of it galloping wa
  10. As cleanspade said... Use Paint. Heres how. 1. Right click on the image you want to use, a menu will pop up. Click on "Open with" Choose paint. A new window will open with Paint and your Image will be visible, even if it is only the corner, its because your image is so big - dont panic. 2. Up in the top left of the window you will see an icon for "Resize" Click this and a small window will pop up. You will see the percentages is clicked, instead, click on pixels next to it, then change the biggest number in the top box e.g. 4752 to around 750, then click ok. Ta da! your image should now b

  12. From a fairly big fallen Oak after all this wind.. I went to bells of hythe for a cast Ali catty, the other day and watched how he banded it, so I thought I would give it a go with this one as Im normally a flatband OTT shooter.. Banded with 20mm bands, not super powerful, but enough..
  13. I think he`s very busy at the moment bud. There may be a contact number for him in the longnetting "genuine suppliers" pinned thread. 1st page, 7 replies down..
  14. Heres that slender oak I mentioned so far. Its 95% dry I would say. Needs a finer sand and a little bit more here and there, then some oil.
  15. They wont be kits this time of year bud, more young adults. Theres sometimes a few needing homes on here either in the ferreting section in the classifieds or in the general ferreting section. Most claim to be "stupid tame" or "well handled" so you should be fine if you can travel to pick them up.
  16. Just off out with my new "dark destroyer" with 7mm green square latex. Bet I cant hit a barn door now..

      LOL @ BH and Walshie..

Feels nice Steve, but unfortunately Ive already badly scratched up the handle. It fell out my pocket, then stood on it helping two kiddies that had crashed on one bike, one kids foot went through the front forks and was jammed againt the brake! Talk about screams.

  19. Thats a grand offer smithie. Thank you. Why stainless, well Ive a pair of small stainless (2.5 ring) made out of 6 or 7mm bar on a hand made 25yd and its plenty light enough and I was just thinking longevity, stainless dont rust. I also think Ive got a bit of a stainless fetish - all my carp banksticks and bars, bits and pieces are all stainless lol. But.. how can I turn down a gifted pair, on 3.5 rings please. Give me a PM about details to pay for the postage bud.
  20. I never thought, do you do stainless pins Les?
