  1. Woodga shows you how to make them in his dvd. Easy if you have a bit of bench space and a vice.
  2. Thats something I`m not down with yet is the numbers (20/9) its a bit like F numbers in photography for me at the moment Nice nets by the way. Where do you get your pins from bud?
  3. Thanks bud. I was wondering if it was grown in the uk, or bought in. Some of the types that grow here can grow some in a year, but they all seem to be straight saplings. I really like it any how..
  4. Ive still got that traditional you pestered me for then didnt get back to me when I told you I couldnt be arsed cutting it into bits for you
  5. I like that one halfway down, with the scar/ knot in the fork. What wood is it bud?
  6. Yeah Ive come across that method, didnt really fancy it though. I think I`ll just give them a while on the radiators..
  7. Cut a couple from a fallen oak today actually. One is a chunky fork, with plenty of room for shaping, but its already symmetrical. And the other is a more slender fork that juts forward, more suited to the side shooting flick..(My favourite) Growing at the top of the tree when growing, they seem pretty dry, but is there a safe way to force dry? Ive peeled one but left it long incase it splits at the ends when drying. I got them in the airing cupboard at the moment.
  8. I had the same problems. I was using Internet explorer 11, f****d it off and installed google chrome and everything works as it should. Its even made my laptop run a bit faster. IE 11 is crap.
  9. Yea was a bit cold this morning, woke up to frost inside and out... Crap pictures off a I phone 3
  10. Ha ha ha I done that this morning.
  11. Yeah I`d come to see you bud. Not been out for a little while and its starting to grate..
  12. Me unless Im making nets or in the shed. Theres flatscreen tv`s in all the bedrooms and they all pick up the same shite..
  13. f*****g fence panels down and un repairable and the bay window roof has leaked all over the tree and presents. Good job I got indoor/outdoor lights on the tree this year.

  14. Empty your inbox Nels, cant PM you..
  15. I`d leave them green ones in the garden centre.. They have been mentioned on here a few times over the years, with not a lot of good said about them. The fibreglass ones are £26 plus postage. For the extra 70p a pole, I know what I`d buy. I think they come with grommets too,
  16. Depends on what you mean by cheap... Ebay, around £30 for 10, 10mm, 1 meter fibreglass long ones. Or free, the sap should be down in the hazel now.
  17. I got shown last year. Just like picking up a traditional. Pull out your first peg and pick up the top and bottom line, keep as much net off the floor. Then thread half a arms length on the point at a time. Just wrap the last bit round both pegs. The guy who showed me kept his two or three stoppies in a sack, no probs. If you have a handful of them, its probably easier with a small basket though.
  18. Did it have preset poles and a basket, if so, thats a quick set long net. And Nels0n off here would be your man.
  19. Nice one Rio. Got all that in the shed. Bee`s wax or green compound?
  20. Interesting. I dont have a gcse to my name, nor trade. That said, I`m not backwards in coming forwards. This is a job I feel I would be well suited for, be it self employed or on for a firm, fleas and mice or rabbits and other things. I didnt screw my loaf as a youngster because I was told I was pissing in the wind coming from a inner city council estate and being interested in the countryside/wildlife industry . Which course would give me the biggest leg up into the industry? Is the BPCA level 2 any good? Is the 5 day residential any better than the online course?
  21. How do you do it? Gonna tip some antler catty forks. I want it shiny!
  22. Nice drive by bud. Was it a steel or lead shot? Do them stalks on the lead shot not make them swerve, I was was always picky with my cleaning up for that reason. Just making myself an antler and buffalo catty, so if they dont swerve I wont be so anal with cleaning, the next lot I knock up.
