  1. What reason does anyone have to hunt or kill anything? Most of the time, it's just for sport or fun. Very occaisionally it is some kind of genuine pest control, but for the most part they just do it because it'sa hobby that they enjoy. Lets face it, the hunts, killed very few foxes in comparisson to lads with rifles, who go out for numbers and sport, or those that went out to test their running dogs. Faireness is a relative thing, and doesn't count for shit if you are trying to put meat on the table, but that's not the case for 90% off folk. You set your own standards. And most of the t
  2. Does someone want to give me the short version of whats going on here?
  3. Why do folk always say, it might be a child next time? That's just melodrama! Dog agressive dogs are aggressive toward other dogs. Still, should be reported, or at least, never in public unmuzzled and unleashed, the woman is an idiot for putting the dog in that situation.

  7. I work both, and like has been said, bothhave their roles. I like hobs, they always seem to be proper characters. Also,i always see a lot of folk saying they only work jills, and that seems the norm. I'd be loathe to get a kit of anyone who said them and their mates only worked jills!
  8. Looks a quality pup, just watch out for the knobheads,it being 'blue' and all.
  9. Yep, it's just stock breaking, which is a basic. You could probably break it to rabbits if you tried. Impressive in some senses, but not a must for a lot of folk, and that doesnt makes their dogs untrained or them bad trainers!
  10. f**k all round here, it's dead as feck this year.
  11. So if you can't call it off quarry, it's just an untrained, point and slip dog?
  12. What kind of wanker poaches foxes with a snare?
  13. Folk saying, feed the night before and they willhave something in their stomach the next day. I'd be surprised if they still have a full stomach 8 hours plus after feeding, being that they hav every short digestive tracts.
  14. I totally agree, but it can't happen forever. You get a good place, lots of game, then lots of folk catch on to it, and sooner or later its f****d one way or another.
  15. Same as, you really cant beat these! Had mine three seasons and used it ALOT, deep enough too, and its still as good as new. I would buy another tomorrow if i ever lost it, highly recomended never used one of these myself but by the pic wouldnt last imo if thats a plastic handle on the top, couldnt imagine choppping roots, flint, etc it would last to long , but can only speak from seeing it on a pic so might be better made than it looks I have didn't last two outings I've had it a couple of seasons now, out at least twice a week or more (sometimes 4/5 days), and getting plenty of us

Cheeky fuckers.

    Raging!

It was a collie and a big red mongrely type thing. Aye ray, he usually carrys a stick, but a long a road, wasnt expecting to see other dogs off leads etc. Think he will have given them a few bruises, but couldnt contend with more than one.

I'm just really glad it was my dad and not mum who took him for a walk, as she wouldnt have been able to kick them off or jump a gate with my dog. And i'm glad the pup wasn't out as well. No idea who the woman was, she didnt even apologise apparently, but i have made enquirys, so will find out eventually. It just gets on my tits how fecking thick folk are, and irresponsible. A pain at this time of year as well. Cheers all for your kind words

    Raging!

Been away for a couple of days with work and left the dog with my folks. My Dad took him out for a road walk last night, a long the local country lanes. Came around a bend and saw two dogs at the top of a hill, coming down the lane toward him, they took off straight for him and the dog and piled into the dog who was on the lead. Luckily the old man gave them a kicking, but as there were two, he couldnt stop them getting hold of the dog and giving him a nasty bite into the rear leg muscle. The woman who was walking the dogs turned up and coulnt control them, call them off or pull them off, even
  20. sound same as mine we sling on it over the shoulder with it great tool So what do you do with a six footer end of day geting dark miles away from home ???? Dig like feck. In all honesty i do also carry a long handled, long bladed, post shovel and bar in the motor, if things get difficult. But johnnyboy and i have done 8 ft, which included going through rock and a buried car, with that thing, all to a collar. I also often carry the lamp in the motor, so if it gets dark, problem solved! Edited to add - i like the short handled spade, as i can hang itoff my net back
