  1. It's not about the poaching, that's par for the course when you are a young lad. . . . .but you can poach and get caught . . . . without needing to be a prick to folk. If you are polite and just walk away then normally you avoid hassle.
  2. Was trying to get into character mate. . . . flat caps and whippets kind of go together 'oop north' There's nowt wrong with being a beardy tramp! But you're not one to be mocking any ones hats
  3. I'm really glad that you enjoyed reading it mate, it makes writing it out worthwhile P.S The garage was great, i'm staying there again next time, Johnny can have the double bedroom with ensuite
  4. Cheers mate, the write up is in the report section now.
  5. Well, this weekend, it was time for our first trip of the season 'oop north;, to visit our good friend Deepearth and have a mooch about with the dogs and ferrets and a catch up. The plan this time was to head up Saturday, have a good walk with the pack, and a couple of ferrets, and then maybe do some lamping that night and then head back the next morning. Set off early doors, picking up Johnnyboy and dogs and we were on our way by 5am. The drive up there was pretty easy and we made good time, to be greated by Deepearth, his mate Patterdalejoel (and his wee dog Eve) and some very welcome ba

  8. I been out for a couple of days . . . . what did i miss? Are folk still moaning. The man and his dog are machines. . . . i think you have to accept this now. It's hardly surprising . . . he is Welsh after all.
  9. Back home from an epic mooch. . . . fecking knackered!

my dinner was the bomb butt, just what I needed.

  10. That's one of the most impressive things. Catching one hundred and one rabbits, the night AFTER what would be considered a decent and fairly tough night out, the night before!
  11. listen mate this was one fantastic trip good company the craic was superb (i think i might have even pissed myself once lol) ive been lucky to have seen a bit in my lifewith different types of hunting and fishing in different parts of the world but nothing even come close to this IT WAS FANTASTIC I wasn't doubting that mate? I'm not going to deny i'm jealous But in all honesty, well done, and it couldnt have been done by nicer or more genuine folk (from what i have picked up off the other place). Bloody well done
  12. It's even the same ferreting mate, it's nice to get out and get half a dozen, but the ferrets spend most of the day in the box and the dogs just trotting about. When you get 50, you really get to see the ferrets working hard and the dogs earning their keep, and if that's not why we do it. . . . then i don't know? You can have as much fun, banter and enjoyment of the country side, catching 50 as you can 5. Only with the former, you can hand on heart say, that you know that your animals are good.
  13. Surely it has always been a numbers game? It's great to catch ten hard rabbits, but it's nicer to catch twenty. I don't believe ANYONE who says that they would not like to see their dog catch a van full of bunnys. At the end of the day, we all run dogs to watch them work, and the more rabbits there are and the more they catch, the more you get to see them work, so happy days.
  14. Err don't you say every location you have been to??.,,, ie, think you went to Sussex, near your in laws,,,then to some place in Somerset ,, where some guy off here wanted a hand,,, then up the dales with the kid from skipton .....have I missed any..lol I give areas, as in counties mate. Not the specific location, which has been given on here, not by you. i know. Same as i remember you getting annoyed when Mr m, but up the village sign of where he had been up north. Its different maybe on the other place, but on here, you can just imagine some of the numpties reading it, but i gu
  15. Listen if am saying l would rather catch over 7 local over 100 its because for the 15 years l have lamped the local land l never been able to beat it.Of course anyone would love to see there dog do a ton and for just one dog to it is some going. But most people would rather see there dog catch 20 hard ones that 100 rabbits that have never seen a dog, a lamp but everyone is entitled to there own say.As l have said fair play to the men and dogs I understand (sort of) your point. But to be honest, however 'easy' the rabbits are, it still takes one hell of a dog to keep going out and back
